HAGL introduces 1.94 m tall goalkeeper to participate in V-League

The list of players registered for the V-League 2025 - 2025 includes two goalkeepers taller than 1.90 m. The new player of the mountain town team is even taller than the star of the Vietnam U.21 team - Tran Trung Kien (1.91 m).

In the list of players participating in the V-League season 2025 - 2026, HAGL registered 4 goalkeepers: Tran Trung Kien, Huynh Tran Bao Duy, Phan Dinh Vu Hai and Nguyen Vu Khang. Among these, the surprise comes from the name Nguyen Vu Khang. Because before that, the goalkeeper born in 2005 was said to have arrived at Ninh Binh Club.

During HAGL's pre-season training trip to Thailand, Nguyen Vu Khang also participated. And now, he officially joined the mountain town team competing in the highest football tournament in Vietnam. Wearing the HAGL shirt is also a positive sign for Vu Khang himself, because the Pleiku team has always created many opportunities for young players.

Nguyen Vu Khang was trained at the HAGL Football Academy, but has never been a regular for HAGL's first team in the V-League. In national youth tournaments, the 20-year-old goalkeeper has only attracted attention thanks to his outstanding height, but has not been able to leave a significant mark in terms of expertise. Previous information said that Vu Khang is 1.97 m tall. However, in the HAGL competition registration list on the V-League homepage, Vu Khang's height is only 1.94 m.

With a height of 1.94 m, Vu Khang is the tallest goalkeeper in HAGL, taller than the star of U.23 Vietnam - Tran Trung Kien (1.91 m). If counting the entire HAGL team, Vu Khang is the second tallest, behind center back Dinh Quang Kiet (1.95 m).

At this time, the current defense of the mountain town team has 5 "poles" 1.9 m tall or taller: goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, Nguyen Vu Khang, center back Dinh Quang Kiet, center back Khevin Rodrigo (1.92 m tall) and Jairo Rodrigues (1.9 m tall).

HAGL will play their first match in the V-League season 2025 - 2026 at 5:00 p.m. on August 17. In this match, the mountain town team will face Becamex TP.HCM Club. Coach Le Quang Trai's team has the advantage of playing at home in Pleiku in the opening match.
