Madam Pang sent a letter of apology for mistaking the Vietnamese flag

(NLDO) - President of the Football Association of Thailand, Madam Pang, sent a letter of apology for the serious mistake and took full responsibility for the incident of mistaking the Vietnamese national flag.

On October 28, right after the incident of mistakenly using the Vietnamese national flag as the Chinese flag at the drawing ceremony of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Futsal Championship, the President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Ms. Nualphan Lamsam (or Madam Pang) quickly sent a letter of apology to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan.

In the letter, Madam Pang expressed “deep regret and sincerest apologies” for the serious error, asserting that the incident did not reflect “the spirit of respect and appreciation that FAT has always had for its member federations and their national symbols”.

Besides, the FAT President is fully aware of the seriousness of the incident and "takes full responsibility for the negligence that occurred".

Madam Pang sent a letter of apology to VFF

"On behalf of FAT, I would like to express my deep regret and most sincere apology for the unfortunate incident involving the misplacement of the Vietnamese national flag during the draw ceremony for the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Men's Futsal Championship, to be held in Thailand on October 28, 2025.

This does not reflect the respect and appreciation that FAT has for all member associations and their national symbols. We are fully aware of the seriousness of this error and take full responsibility for the negligence that occurred" - FAT President expressed.

The FAT President also affirmed that the federation immediately reviewed and adjusted the organization process to ensure similar mistakes would not happen again.

“FAT would like to send its sincere apologies to VFF, the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) and all relevant parties,” Madam Pang said, expressing her wish to directly apologize to VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan in the near future.

She stressed that FAT is committed to maintaining the “highest standards of professionalism and respect” in all events hosted by Thailand.

It is known that immediately after the incident, Madam Pang and the FAT General Secretary also directly called to apologize to the VFF President and General Secretary.
