Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh had an outstanding day of competition, becoming a major highlight for Vietnamese shooting by winning two gold medals and breaking two SEA Games records, thereby making a significant contribution to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation.
In the women's 10m air pistol team event, Thu Vinh, along with Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong, brought home the 31st gold medal for Vietnamese sports. The three shooters performed consistently, maintaining focus throughout the qualifying rounds to overcome direct competitors in the region.

Meanwhile, in the women's 10m air pistol individual final, Trinh Thu Vinh continued to demonstrate the prowess of a top shooter. She maintained consistency throughout each round, especially in the decisive shots. At the end of the competition, Thu Vinh achieved a total score of 242.7, winning the gold medal and once again breaking the SEA Games record.
Notably, Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang also performed well to win the silver medal with 241.7 points, just one point behind her teammate.
Sharing her thoughts after her impressive performance, Thu Vinh said: "Actually, today's performance wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. Compared to the rest of the world , this result is still not good enough to win a medal. But through this competition, I've learned some lessons and gained experience that will help me try harder in the future."
Speaking about breaking the SEA Games record, the female shooter humbly said: "I think the record was just luck. While competing, I didn't think I could break the record. Today, I just tried to stick to the methods set by the coaching staff as well as my own."
When I was falling, I took deep breaths to calm my nerves and regulate my breathing. In competition, you can't expect to score a perfect 10 every time. I allowed myself to shoot a 9, but within control, meaning a 9 close to a 10. If it were 9.0 or 9.1, I would have lost too many points. However, later on, I was able to calm down and regain the 10."

Finally, speaking about the gun he was holding, Thu Vinh said: "This gun has been with me for quite a long time, almost from the time I started training until now, which is more than 7 years. Maybe everyone else has changed guns, but I've kept this one. I often joke, 'I've been with you for quite a while, so you'd better listen to me a little.'"
With two gold medals in the same day and two SEA Games record-breaking achievements, Trinh Thu Vinh not only affirmed her individual class but also demonstrated the meticulous preparation of Vietnamese shooting.
This achievement further strengthens the team's position in the regional arena and opens up high expectations for the next important events at the SEA Games.
