The Long Thanh airport terminal and Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, with a total investment of over 45,000 billion VND, will commence construction on August 26th.
This information was provided by a representative of the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) - the investor - on August 23rd. The Long Thanh airport terminal has a total investment of 35,000 billion VND. The project is being built on a 150-hectare plot of land, designed with two separate arrival and departure lanes, comprising a ground floor and three upper floors, with a roof peak nearly 46 meters high, and accommodating 40 aircraft parking positions.
The station is expected to be completed and operational in 2026. Currently, the winning bidder has not been announced, but so far only one consortium of contractors has passed the technical evaluation round.

The 35 trillion VND terminal is considered the "heart" of Long Thanh Airport, with the lotus flower motif used throughout the design process, including the roof, the main facade views, and the interior of the check-in area. Architectural highlights include the skylight and the central atrium – where an artificial waterfall and landscaped gardens are located.
According to ACV, the project was designed and constructed using the most modern technology in the aviation field, with materials that are both durable and aesthetically pleasing.
Along with the terminal building, the 4,000-meter-long, 45-meter-wide runway with a system of two parallel taxiways, six rapid exit taxiways, and connecting taxiways, as well as several other auxiliary facilities, were also started on this occasion.
Long Thanh Airport has a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year. The total investment for the project is approximately 336,630 billion VND (about 16 billion USD). Of this, phase one involves an investment of 114,450 billion VND (equivalent to 5.45 billion USD).

On August 26th, construction began on Terminal 3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport, comprising the passenger terminal, a multi-story parking garage combined with non-aviation services, and an elevated bridge system in front. The project has a total investment of 10,990 billion VND, is expected to be completed in 20 months, and will be operational from the second quarter of 2025.
The passenger terminal includes one basement level and four above-ground levels, with a total construction floor area of 112,500 m2. The terminal has 90 airline check-in counters, 20 self-service baggage drop-off counters, 42 check-in kiosks, 27 boarding gates (13 jet bridges and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage claim areas and 10 arrival baggage claim areas, and 25 passenger security checkpoints.
Upon completion, Terminal T3 will serve domestic flights with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year, capable of handling all Code C and Code E aircraft (wide-body aircraft).
