Workers are no longer confused
Because of the need to change jobs, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, a freelance worker in Tran Phu commune, said that he had watched 1-2 online job fairs through the Fanpage of Hai Phong Employment Service Center. After listening to the introduction, he found a lot of useful and interesting information and the online application form was quite suitable, saving travel time for workers living far away like him. However, Mr. Duc was worried and anxious about how much it would cost to participate in the above job fairs and how it was done.
Some workers are hesitant because they do not have the skills or proficiency in information technology. Mr. Nguyen Cong Lam, 50 years old, Le Chan ward shared that when he came to the Employment Service Center to submit his application for unemployment benefits, he expressed his wish to work as a food processor.
“Although I was quite self-conscious, the center staff quickly and enthusiastically helped me connect online with the recruiting unit. In just one morning, sitting in one place, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by 3 recruiting units. This was a good opportunity for me to consider and choose the unit that offered a better salary and benefits, and to choose a working environment that was more suitable for me,” said Mr. Lam.

Currently, the Management and Operation Center (website https://www.vieclamhaiduong.vn) receives recruitment requests for 4,500 job positions from 1,700 businesses and nearly 2,000 job seekers. Understanding the psychology and concerns of workers, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Consulting, Job Introduction and Vocational Training Department, Hai Phong Employment Service Center, said that online job transactions also have the participation and connection of businesses in some neighboring localities. Thereby, workers can compare and trust the general level of income and support policies of businesses in Hai Phong, which are relatively higher than in many other places.
The free online job fair does not stop at just one session, but after it ends, workers are also connected by businesses and interviewed in depth to specifically assess their professional capacity, level of meeting recruitment criteria and requirements...
Expanding support scope
Not only diverse and flexible in supporting workers to access recruitment information, mobile job fairs organized at colleges, universities, etc. target young workers who are adaptable, quick to grasp information technology, and proficient in digital skills.
Last June, a direct and online job fair took place at the College of Economics , Fisheries and Food Technology, attracting more than 500 students and workers to participate. At each interview table, there was a QR code describing the job position, specific salary requirements, and allowances for each position...

Dr. Trinh Quoc Tan, Principal of the school, said: About 70% of the school's 9+ students are from remote areas, coming to Hai Phong to study and need to find a job immediately. Therefore, during the training process, the school also enhances digital skills training: updating personal information, submitting job applications online... to help students feel less confused when working in an advanced, modern environment.
At Hai Phong Tourism College, Hai Duong Vocational College, etc., information about recruiting units is available on the website. With just a “click” of the mouse, students can easily access information about units that need additional labor.
Currently, relevant departments, branches, sectors and units are strengthening coordination and supporting workers to access job opportunities quickly and conveniently. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, Deputy Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said that the unit is synthesizing information and recruitment needs of enterprises in industrial parks and sending notices to agencies and units to coordinate information and propaganda twice a month.
To improve the efficiency of connecting labor supply and demand, it is expected that in early December this year, the City Labor Federation will coordinate with the Hai Phong Employment Service Center (Department of Home Affairs) and many related units to organize the largest job fair since the merger, with 120 - 130 booths displaying and introducing logos, products of businesses and human resource recruitment needs throughout the city.
Notably, thousands of students in the city were able to visit directly and get online information about the fields and professions, requirements from businesses, etc. Thereby, contributing to promoting "people looking for jobs, jobs looking for people", so that each job transaction session is not only a meeting point for labor supply and demand, but also a space for dialogue between people, needs and aspirations for development.
