A series of multidisciplinary clinic leaders were prosecuted in the insurance fraud case in Dong Nai.

Among the 19 defendants prosecuted, there are 5 doctors: Ngo Chi Luan (Head of Tan Long General Clinic); Do Vu Tan (Head of Long Binh Tan General Clinic); Pham Nguyen Xuan Giang (Head of Hien Phuoc General Clinic); Vo Khanh Hoa (Deputy Head of Tam Duc General Clinic) and Tran Van Duan (doctor at My Duc General Clinic; all located in Bien Hoa City); along with 12 pharmacists, medical staff and 2 "brokers" who bought and sold fake documents.

Police searched many clinics in Bien Hoa City to investigate social insurance fraud.

According to the initial investigation, the Bien Hoa City Police Department determined that the above defendants had forged more than 130,000 sick leave certificates to receive social insurance and more than 400 health examination certificates (to sell to employees, mainly workers in companies). In addition, the clinics also created records to receive health insurance settlement.

Previously, on May 30, Bien Hoa City Police and the People's Procuracy at the same level coordinated with Dong Nai Police's professional units to simultaneously search 6 private clinics in the area to investigate the case of falsifying sick leave certificates to take advantage of insurance benefits at these clinics. Currently, the Ministry of Public Security has directed Dong Nai Police to continue to expand the investigation, and clarify all criminal acts of the subjects to handle according to the law.
