Ms. Luong said that for many years, her family has prioritized buying consumer goods made in Vietnam, because Vietnamese goods have clear origins, ensure food hygiene and safety, and are priced within the family's spending ability. Not only Ms. Luong, but most people in the province choose to buy domestically produced goods for use.

Researching the market during the Tet holiday at markets in the province, such as Phu Thong market, Bach Thong district; Yen Lac market, Na Ri district; Duc Xuan market, Bac Kan city...; convenience stores, grocery stores, large supermarkets are full of consumer goods for Tet. At these points and business areas, most of the products in the processed food group and some technological products such as confectionery, cooking oil, seasoning powder, Tet jam, pre-packaged canned food, garments, shoes, beer, wine... are all made in Vietnam with diverse prices, quality, designs, suitable for the budget and needs of consumers.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc, representative of Ngoc Cuong Distributor, informed that the unit is supplying more than 10 thousand product codes, of which Vietnamese goods account for 90%, an increase of 3% compared to the same period of Tet Giap Thin 2024.

To ensure sufficient supply of goods for the Lunar New Year, since the beginning of the 11th lunar month, many enterprises and cooperatives have actively produced, sourced goods, stockpiled, and signed contracts to distribute products. According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, in the province, there are a number of large distributors such as Hung Thinh Trading and Service Investment Company Limited, Ngoc Hung BK Trading and Service Company Limited, Ba Be Investment, Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, Winmart Bac Kan Supermarket, BK Mart Supermarket; distributors: Ngoc Cuong, Vuong Huyen, Nguyen Thi Nga, Thao Nghi, Yen Thuy... are ready to gather, stockpile and distribute items such as cakes, jams, candies, soft drinks, canned fish, meat, poultry eggs, dried fish, cooking oil, soft drinks, wine, beer, coffee of all kinds..., basically meeting the consumption needs of the provincial market. Prices of items such as sugar, cooking oil, fish sauce, soft drinks, wine, beer of all kinds are relatively stable; Cakes, jams, and candies come in a variety of designs and types suitable to consumers' tastes and incomes. At traditional markets, grocery retailers stock and supply to ensure meeting people's essential needs during the Lunar New Year 2025, expected to increase by 10-15% depending on the item compared to last year. The proportion of Vietnamese goods in modern distribution channels (shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience stores, mini supermarkets, etc.) accounts for more than 90%. The proportion of Vietnamese goods in traditional distribution channels (markets, grocery stores, etc.) accounts for more than 70%.

OCOP products are consumed strongly.

In the province, special and typical products are especially popular, in which OCOP products are the priority choice of customers. The whole province currently has 245 OCOP products (4 5-star products, 21 4-star products, the rest are 3-star). Together with domestic manufacturers, since the 11th lunar month, the province's OCOP entities have actively produced to have a source of goods to serve the market demand for the upcoming Lunar New Year. In particular, OCOP products are produced and sold in large quantities such as dong vermicelli, sausage, smoked meat, fragrant pumpkin tea, chrysanthemum tea, turmeric starch, honey, wine, etc.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in districts and cities in the province, the production and supply of dry pho and dry vermicelli to the market increased slightly. Some suppliers such as Hong Luan Cooperative, Cho Don district, have reserved and supplied about 6 tons of dry pho and dry vermicelli; Quynh Nien Pho and Vermicelli Cooperative, Ngan Son district, supplied about 20 tons; 20/10 Cooperative, Thanh Nien Nhu Co Cooperative, Cho Moi district, supplied 20 tons of dry vermicelli; dry pho production facilities in Phu Thong town, Bach Thong district, supplied about 20 tons... Pork products such as ham, sausage, lap xuong, smoked meat and other products processed from pork... are stocked at food establishments and stores in the area, about 20 tons.

Along with active production, this year's Tet holiday, many OCOP product owners have invested heavily in label design and product packaging to attract consumers. Mr. Ha Thiem Thuan, Director of Phja Food Company Limited said: "To meet the demand for goods for the Lunar New Year 2025, based on the requirements of partners and consumers, the Company offers beautiful and luxurious gift sets. To enhance the product, the Company also invests in packaging and quality to meet the needs of customers to give to friends, partners and relatives. At this time, the number of products made by the Company has increased by 10% compared to previous months."

The above results are due to the fact that in recent times, the province has always paid attention to promoting the production and consumption of Vietnamese goods, including OCOP products of Bac Kan. The Industry and Trade sector as well as units and localities in the province have actively implemented many policies to sell Vietnamese goods, stabilize the market during holidays and Tet; focused on supporting and encouraging the development of the distribution system, building a chain of "production - distribution - consumption" linkage models... thereby creating favorable conditions to bring essential goods produced in Vietnam to consumers./.
