Attractive tourism in Hoa Binh

In 2023, many tourism stimulus activities of the province were implemented. Based on the promotion of tourism development plan, Hoa Binh has accelerated and impressively recovered tourism. The targets of visitors and total revenue from tourists have all reached and exceeded the set plan.

The 2023 tourism stimulus program with the message "Hoa Binh - Green tourism destination - Complete experience" has launched a series of local tourism events. Many activities of destinations, new, attractive and typical tourism products of districts and cities in the province have been introduced and promoted to domestic and international tourists, such as: Cultural - Sports - Tourism Festival (VH-TT-DL) of ethnic groups in Tan Lac highlands; Hoa Binh City Culture - Sports - Tourism Festival; Da Bac District Culture - Sports and Tourism Promotion Festival; Opening of Hoa Binh City walking street; Community Tourism Village Festival (DLCĐ) of the expanded Northwestern provinces... Thereby creating conditions for tourism areas, points and units to introduce products, offer incentive programs and commit to ensuring service quality to attract tourists.

Currently, the whole province has nearly 500 tourist accommodation establishments, including 48 hotels, 270 motels, 180 standard homestays serving tourists. The destinations that are especially loved and chosen by tourists are resorts, eco-tourism and community tourism. Notable are the resorts, eco-tourism Serena Kim Boi Resort; An Lac Ecofam Hot and Springs (Kim Boi); Avana Retreat, Mai Chau Lodge; Mai Chau Hideaway, Ba Khan Village Rerort (Mai Chau), Maida Lodge, Xoan Retreat (Da Bac)... Regarding the type of community tourism that attracts visitors to destinations in the tourist area of Mai Chau district (Lac village - Chieng Chau commune, Hich village - Mai Hich commune, Cha Day village - Pa Co commune, Hang Kia village - Hang Kia commune...); Hoa Binh Lake tourist area has community tourism spots in Ngoi village - Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac), Ke village - Hien Luong commune, Sung village - Cao Son commune, Da Bia village - Tien Phong commune (Da Bac)...

During the year, a comprehensive and widespread communication campaign contributed to promoting tourism activities. Many Famtrip and Presstrip delegations came to promote tourism in Hoa Binh. The province also conducted surveys to assess the potential of tourist areas, routes and destinations in the area, focusing on promoting and promoting tourism communications for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the districts of Tan Lac, Mai Chau, Da Bac; making books and clips to promote tourism in Hoa Binh, continuing to post articles about tourism on the website. Previously, tourists often came to Hoa Binh at the beginning of the year (festival and spiritual tourism), summer (eco-tourism and resort tourism), but in 2023, there will be more exciting months at the end of the year with the "explosion" of tourism activities organized by the province and districts and cities. The Northwest Provinces' Community Village Festival in Mai Chau district is one of the highlights of the year's tourism events, attracting members of the Northwest Extension group, the participation of Ninh Binh province, the Provincial Tourism Association and the convergence of 10 Community Villages. During the 3 days of the festival (November 17-19), more than 35,000 people and tourists attended the activities, including over 12,000 visitors, with estimated revenue of more than 10 billion VND. The festival has many rich and attractive activities such as: booth display contest introducing cultural and tourism products, culinary contest, presentation contest introducing DLCCĐ villages, art performances and demonstration of ethnic costumes, traditional crafts, folk games... which have left good feelings in the hearts of people and tourists.

According to Mr. Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoa Binh tourism is on the rise. Units are focusing on investing, renovating and upgrading facilities to welcome and serve tourists. Currently, the province's main source of visitors is the domestic market, coming from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and some localities in the Northern region, the Central and Southern provinces. The international tourist market comes from Korea, France, Australia, the UK and potential markets China, Taiwan, the US, Germany, Russia, and Western Europe. In 2023, the number of tourists coming to the province will increase rapidly, especially on weekends and holidays. Tourism has made an important contribution to economic growth, creating jobs for workers, and gradually integrating internationally. Tourism business activities achieved encouraging results, the province welcomed 3.8 million visitors, an increase of 21.5% compared to 2022, reaching 108.6% of the yearly plan, including 450,000 international visitors. Total revenue from tourists reached 4,000 billion VND, achieving 102.6% of the yearly plan.
