“North-South Promise” is a national commemorative program on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), chaired by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Politics, Hanoi City and the Military Radio and Television Center. The program will take place at 8:10 p.m. on April 22, 2025 at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi); broadcast live on the Vietnam National Defense Television (QPVN), relayed on central and local television channels and streamed online on internet media platforms.

The program gathered a large number of artists and actors, up to 800 people, with the participation of many famous artists; immortal epics, songs that have stood the test of time such as: "Loi ca de Bac", "Nhung anh sao dem", "Hay long nho me oi", "Dua com cho me di cac", "Duong toi di duong doc nuoc", "Rung xanh rang tieng Ta lu" ... brought the audience back to the heroic atmosphere of their ancestors 50 years ago.

The general director, Colonel Pham Van Tu, Director of the Military Radio and Television Center, said that “North-South Promise” is a place where memories cannot fade, where promises will forever echo. It is a promise of unification of the whole nation; a promise with the rear; a promise at the frontline and a promise with international friends... It is a journey back to history, to the promises that were written with the blood, tears and loyalty of millions of Vietnamese people. The program will recreate those promises through the language of political and artistic discourse, combining historical documents, thematic reports, animation, music and modern performance technology.

“The program is an opportunity to pay tribute to the contributions of the generations who fell for the independence of the nation, to remind them of these promises, to affirm the steadfastness and courage of the entire Vietnamese people determined to realize the oath of the country; so that today, we need to be more determined, make more efforts, to keep the country together, the North and the South united as one, and to step firmly into the era of national growth. That is the promise for the future,” said Colonel Tu.

One of the highlights of the program is the journey of 120 veterans - soldiers from the past returning to the old battlefield, called the journey "North - South Promise". The veterans will gather in Hanoi and be taken to the Central Highlands by Vietnam Airlines. From here, Saigon Tourist will take them to visit the old battlefields in Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City. The journey is to recall memories, visit fallen comrades, meet the people who once sheltered and cared for them in the fire of war, so that they can be more proud when the old battlefield has "changed skin, changed flesh". The audience will see with their own eyes the journey recorded into stories and retold through emotional footage, broadcast in the program.

With elaborate investment, the program "North-South Appointment" brings a magnificent live stage of 2,700m2, divided into 2 staggered blocks representing the North - South, in the middle is Hien Luong bridge across Ben Hai river. The stage floor is 5m high. The highest point of the stage is 19m.

“To set up the stage, 17,000 layers were used. This is one of the largest political stages ever; it used about 300m3 of water,” said director Pham Van Tu. The show also featured 3D mapping technology projected onto a water screen, the first time it appeared in Vietnam.

Although it is an outdoor program, in a large space, the sound in the program will use soundscape surround sound, image calls, creating a realistic feeling. Combined with laser light, the program recreates beautiful, majestic images such as historical battles, troops marching across the river, the legendary Truong Son road scene, tanks speeding into the Independence Palace, boats cutting through the waves on the historic Ben Hai River and the joyful scene of the day of national reunification... In addition, the audience will witness the image of 2 real tanks of the Tank - Armored Command, rowing boats, and Zin cars carrying troops on stage.
