On the afternoon of September 8, U23 Vietnam had a training session at Phu Tho Stadium, preparing for the final match in Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers. On the previous day (September 7), Coach Kim Sang-sik's team only practiced recovery at the hotel gym and did not go to the training ground. In the hot weather in Phu Tho, this was a necessary move to help the players relax and unwind after the match with U23 Singapore.

At the beginning of the training session, Dinh Bac needed the care of the medical team. However, it seems that the problem is not too serious and the player wearing the CAHN shirt can completely play against U23 Yemen. Besides, it is also important to remember that the Korean strategist always rotates thoroughly, making the squad very diverse in choice and not dependent on a specific individual.

Before entering the tactical training, Coach Kim Sang-sik praised his players for their efforts in the first two matches, successfully completing the task of winning 6 points from U23 Bangladesh and U23 Singapore. However, he also emphasized that the team's goal is to take the remaining 3 points from U23 Yemen and will not be satisfied with a draw (although 1 point is enough to secure the top spot and a ticket to the 2026 AFC U23 Championship).

In addition, he also reminded the players about finishing. Although it can be justified by bad luck, when too many shots hit the goalpost, U23 Vietnam also wasted many good situations, leading to the team only scoring 3 goals after 2 matches.

When the training session ended, Khuat Van Khang also said that the whole team had a meeting, learned from experience and listened to the instructions of Coach Kim Sang-sik after the match with U23 Singapore. The players also analyzed the opponent U23 Yemen and understood the strengths and weaknesses of the West Asian team. However, according to Khuat Van Khang, he and his teammates will focus on improving to become a better team and are determined to win the match on the evening of September 9 with U23 Yemen.
