" Some positions are still not very good, especially the young athletes need to practice more ," coach Mai Duc Chung shared about the unsatisfactory points in the match with Bangladesh.

Against an opponent rated lower, the Vietnamese women's team played overwhelmingly. The team won 6-1 thanks to goals from Hai Yen, Thuy Hang, Tran Thi Duyen, Bich Thuy (double) and Thai Thi Thao. Parvin Masura scored an honorary goal for Bangladesh.

Coach Mai Duc Chung assessed that the Vietnamese women's team achieved their goal of winning all 3 points, the young players were able to compete and gain experience, and no one was injured or given a card. However, he said that the young players need to try harder to integrate into the team's playing style.

The 72-year-old coach also affirmed that the coaching staff had correctly assessed the strength of the Bangladesh team, especially after watching their match with the Japanese team. As expected, the opponent actively defended, looking for counter-attack opportunities. Therefore, the coaching staff came up with appropriate tactics.

" Today, the players implemented the strategy when deploying open-sided situations, but it was not really effective when we could not penetrate deep into their left wing. We still missed opportunities so I am not really satisfied, " coach Mai Duc Chung commented on his players' performance in the match.

The Vietnamese women's team has two wins like Japan but is ranked behind due to lower goal difference. The two teams will face off in the final match.

Coach Mai Duc Chung assessed: " It will be a very difficult match, everyone has witnessed how well Japan played at the 2023 Women's World Cup. The Vietnamese women's team will have to try their best ."

The Vietnamese women's team will have two full days off before meeting Japan on September 28 at the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. The group winner will advance. The runner-up will have to compete with the other runners-up to secure three spots in the quarterfinals.
