Coach Okiyama Masahiko and the Vietnam U16 women's team gathered to prepare for the 2026 Southeast Asian U16 tournament

VHO - After successfully competing with the U20 women's team and winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Finals, Coach Okiyama Masahiko returned with the Vietnam U16 women's team to prepare for the Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship.

With the help of experienced assistants, including coach Nguyen Thi Mai Lan, coach Okiyama Masahiko is completely confident in the recent training sessions of the Vietnam U16 women's team.

Coach Okiyama Masahiko highly praised the players.

Commenting on the players, Coach Okiyama Masahiko said: “The players and coaching staff are still working hard, trying to train according to the plan I have set out. The whole team is gradually adapting to the playing style being developed and becoming more cohesive and united in their daily lives and training.”

Having officially started training on July 23rd at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnam U16 women's team has only 10 days to prepare before their first match at the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, held in Indonesia.

In the final stages of preparation, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his assistants continued to refine the team's lineup through three training matches against the U19 women's teams of Phong Phu Ha Nam , Zantino Vinh Phuc, and Thai Nguyen T&T at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

In the previous week, the Vietnamese U16 women's team also had two training matches in Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen, winning 2-0 against the Zantino Vinh Phuc U19 women's team and 4-2 against the Thai Nguyen T&T U19 women's team.

The female players are determined to train hard to achieve the best possible results.

According to the plan, after the fourth week of training, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will travel to Indonesia to compete. At the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, the Vietnamese players are in Group B along with Cambodia and Myanmar. The two group stage matches will take place on August 21st and 25th.

Under the dedicated guidance of coach Masahiko Okiyama and his assistant staff, the Vietnamese U16 women's team is gradually improving its skills, physical fitness, and fighting spirit. The goal is not only to win the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship but also to build a solid foundation for future generations of players.
