(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Coach Ruben Amorim has become the youngest manager to lead Man Utd since 1969. The Portuguese coach also affirmed that he did not join the Red Devils for money.
Coach Ruben Amorim has made history at Manchester United after reaching an agreement to manage the team until June 2027. According to statistics, the Portuguese strategist has become the youngest coach to manage Manchester United in the last 55 years.

The last time Manchester United appointed a younger manager was in the summer of 1969 when Wilf McGuinness was chosen to succeed Matt Busby. At that time, McGuinness was only 31 years old.
In the Premier League era, Amorim is the youngest manager to lead Manchester United. He is also only younger than three managers currently working in England's top league: Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton - 31 years old), Kieran McKenna (Ipswich Town - 38 years old), and Russell Martin (Southampton - 38 years old).
The recruitment of a young coach like Amorim (only the same age as Cristiano Ronaldo) shows that Man Utd wants to create a "fresh breeze" on the coaching bench. Coach Amorim's boldness and groundbreaking ideas are what the Red Devils have been lacking to make a significant leap forward.
Speaking to the press, coach Amorim affirmed that his reason for joining Man Utd was not for money, despite being the fourth highest-paid coach in the Premier League with £6.5 million per year. This income is three times what he received at Sporting Lisbon.
The coach, born in 1985, said: "Some people say I joined Man Utd for the money. But that's not true. I rejected an offer with a salary three times greater than what the Red Devils offered just to join the team. Man Utd is the team I genuinely wanted to manage."

Coach Amorim admitted that Man Utd only gave him three days to think it over. This forced him to change his plans. Initially, he only intended to join Man Utd after this season ended.
He further shared: "I asked Man Utd if I could join the team at the end of the season. That's what I wanted, but the team refused. They said now or never. So I had to make a decision immediately. I agreed."
Coach Amorim will begin his work at Man Utd on November 11th. Last night, he led Sporting Lisbon to a 5-1 victory over Estrela, maintaining their position at the top of the Portuguese league table with 10 wins out of 10 matches. Next week, Coach Amorim and Sporting Lisbon will face Man City in the Champions League.
