The AI Faculty of the Academy will not only be a place to train leading experts in the field of AI, but also a center for research and development of the most advanced technological solutions, meeting the urgent needs of society with the continuously increasing demand for human resources in the AI industry. The new faculty will play a leading role in directly training in the AI industry, while supporting AI training for other faculties in the school.
"The development vision of the AI department in the next 10 years is to become the number 1 unit in AI training in the country in terms of both research and training quality. The goal is to put the Academy in the top 400 - 450 universities in the world in AI research by 2035," said Professor Tu Minh Phuong - Chairman of the Council of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung pointed out: If the AI Faculty of the Academy wants to be excellent, it must have a different and excellent philosophy in AI training. This training philosophy will be a magnet for attracting excellent knowledge, excellent teachers and excellent students. In terms of attracting excellent teachers and experts to participate in teaching, we should pay more attention to attracting their souls, their knowledge, and their excellence than their physical presence.

Once again emphasizing the importance of AI, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung requested that the Academy's AI training program be continuously updated, closely following the AI curriculum of universities around the world.
In particular, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also pointed out: The AI curriculum in Vietnam must focus on promoting application, helping Vietnam take the lead in application, and have enough AI human resources to bring AI applications into every corner of Vietnamese social life. "The Academy needs to set a goal of reaching the top 100 universities in the world in AI application training," Minister Nguyen Manh Hung requested the school and faculty.
The Academy also needs to note that AI human resource training needs to combine undergraduate, graduate, doctoral training and retraining. Electronics, telecommunications, and IT engineers can "reskill" (retrain) to become AI engineers, to quickly meet the demand for AI human resources in a short time.
The head of the Information and Communications sector also noted that the AI department of the Academy and its students must have a deep understanding of the principles of AI management and development, such as: Ensuring transparency and explainability; Respecting ethical values and human rights; Protecting privacy... This is to ensure that AI always serves humans.
