Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Deputy Director of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), informed that this year the Institute plans to recruit about 6,500 students at both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City campuses using five methods, including: talent selection; based on international certificates; considering test scores to assess capacity and thinking; considering high school graduation exam scores; combining English certificates with academic records.
With the combined admission method, the admission requirements are that candidates have IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 65, TOELF ITB 500, with an average score of 7.5 in three years of high school, and good conduct or higher.
With talent selection, in addition to direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , the school also considers groups participating in the selection of international Olympic teams, international Science and Technology; winning provincial-level prizes or higher in Math, Physics, Chemistry, IT, English, Literature or being specialized students in these subjects, and having an average score of 7.5 for three years or more, with good conduct or higher.
For the group using international certificates, the school requires SAT scores from 1130/1600 and ACT from 25/36 or higher.
In the method of considering the results of the competency assessment exam, candidates have been recognized as graduating from high school or equivalent and have one of the following additional conditions:
Candidates with a score of 600 or higher in the Ho Chi Minh City National University Aptitude Test (APT) in 2025.
Candidates with a score of 15 or higher on the Hanoi National University of Education (SPT) Competency Assessment Test in 2025.
Candidates with a score of 50 or higher on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Thinking Assessment (TSA) in 2025.
Candidates with a score of 75 or higher on the Hanoi National University's 2025 HSA assessment test;
Note: For the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test, candidates choose:
Part 3 – Science: Candidates are required to choose a combination of 2 topics Physics and Chemistry to be registered for all majors/programs.
Part 3 – English: Candidates are registered for majors/programs in the Business and Management group, Journalism and Information group.
When calculating admission scores, the school uses the transcript scores of three subjects according to the combination. English certificates are converted as follows:
