Bustling atmosphere of preparation for Buddha's Birthday 2025 across the country

(PLVN) - These days, many pagodas, monasteries across the country and Buddhists' homes are busy completing preparations to celebrate Buddha's Birthday 2025.

The 20th United Nations Day of Vesak in 2025 will be hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). This is the 4th time the Day of Vesak has been held in Vietnam.

The 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival program began on May 3 with the Opening Ceremony of the Buddha's Relics - the national treasure of India at Thanh Tam Pagoda, Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Le Minh Xuan Campus (Binh Chanh District) and the Heart Relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc at Vietnam National Temple (3/2 Street, Ho Chi Minh City).

The official opening ceremony of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival will take place at 8:00 a.m. on May 6. In addition to the official activities, the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival will also have spiritual and cultural activities taking place at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Le Minh Xuan Campus, Binh Chanh District, such as: Traditional Buddha bathing ceremony; Memorial ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification according to traditional Buddhist rituals typical of the three regions of the North, Central and South; Lantern night to pray for world peace...

In addition to the Vesak 2025 event held mainly at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy, many pagodas and monasteries in many provinces/cities across the country also organize many events towards the Great Festival.

On April 27 (March 30, At Ty), Quan Am Tu Vien successfully launched 7 rainbow lotus flowers into Nhieu Loc canal in Phu Nhuan district. Celebration atmosphere at Long Son Pagoda - Khanh Hoa

The Buddha's Birthday PL.2569-DL.2025 in Hue city will be held from April 1-15, At Ty year (April 28-May 12, 2025) with many rich and meaningful Buddhist activities to pay homage to the birthday of Buddha Shakyamuni, pray for the glory of the Fatherland, the longevity of the Dharma, world peace, and happiness for all beings.

These days, many Buddhists across the country are also decorating their homes to celebrate the 2025 Vesak Festival. Buddhist Tran Van Duc (Da Nang City) shared that the main colors for the 2025 Vesak Festival decorations this year are pink and blue. All designs are based on the Vesak 2025 identification standards hosted by the 4th VBS, and held for the first time at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.
