Online conference to deploy the Plan to implement Power Plan VIII

On the afternoon of April 3, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a conference to deploy the Plan to implement the 8th Power Plan in both direct and online forms to 63 provinces and centrally-run cities.

Attending the conference at Ninh Binh bridge were comrade Nguyen Cao Son, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities.

According to the report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on April 1, 2024, the Prime Minister approved the Plan to implement the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII).

Power Plan VIII plays a very important role in orienting the development of the electricity industry in particular and the energy industry in general in the development and integration process of the country, especially in the context of increasingly scarce fossil energy sources.

Based on the direction, orientation and objectives of the VIII Power Plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has presided over and closely coordinated with ministries, branches, central agencies and localities in researching, developing and completing the Project Plan for implementing the VIII Power Plan.

Accordingly, the Plan for implementing the Power Plan VIII complies with current legal regulations, aiming to build a roadmap for effective implementation of programs, projects, and plans that meet the set planning objectives, meet the electricity demand for socio-economic development in each period, and ensure that electricity is one step ahead. At the same time, implement a strong energy transition from fossil fuels to new energy sources, renewable energy to meet sustainable development and global demands and trends.

The VIII Power Plan also identifies solutions to attract investment in power development as well as coordination mechanisms between ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities in implementation...

For Ninh Binh province, following the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the province has reviewed and made a list of projects for each type of power source to ensure that it is consistent with the total capacity allocated to the locality. Ninh Binh province has sent documents to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide information for the preparation of the Plan for implementing the VIII Power Plan and to contribute opinions to the Draft of the Plan.

To successfully implement the VIII Power Plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and central ministries, branches and localities will coordinate to study, supplement and promulgate relevant mechanisms and policies to ensure consistency, feasibility, and suitability with the country's development situation and international practices, especially in the field of renewable energy.
