Conference on propaganda and contributions to the drafting of draft laws chaired by the Ministry of Public Security

BHG - On the afternoon of April 28, the Provincial Police Department coordinated with the National Assembly Delegation of the XVth tenure of Ha Giang province to organize a conference to disseminate contributions to the drafting of draft laws chaired by the Ministry of Public Security to submit to the 9th Session of the XVth National Assembly. Comrade Ly Thi Lan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the XVth tenure of Ha Giang province; Nguyen Duc Thuan, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Hoang Ngoc Dinh, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, National Assembly Delegate of the XVth tenure of Ha Giang province co-chaired the conference. Attending the conference were leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors, associations, unions of the province, local and central press agencies located in the province, and professional departments of the Provincial Police.

The conference heard a summary report on the necessity of promulgating five draft laws drafted by the Ministry of Public Security , including: Law on Personal Data Protection; Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies (amended); Penal Code (amended); Law on Extradition; Law on Transfer of Persons Serving Prison Sentences.

Participating in giving opinions on the draft laws, the delegates highly agreed on the need to promulgate new laws and amend existing laws to suit the practical conditions arising in social life and the work of crime prevention and control, criminal proceedings, etc. The delegates said that in the revised draft laws this time, there are many new and important additional contents, especially in the revised Penal Code project this time, which proposed to abolish the death penalty for a number of crimes, showing the humanity of our Party and State.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang Province, Ly Thi Lan, highly appreciated the initiative and responsibility of the Provincial Police Department in organizing the conference to collect opinions from agencies and units. Through this, it contributes to the development of draft laws, avoiding obstacles when they are promulgated and implemented. Comrade Ly Thi Lan acknowledged the comments of the delegates attending the conference. At the same time, she affirmed that the Provincial National Assembly Delegation will synthesize, select and have opinions to participate in the upcoming 9th Session.

Colonel Nguyen Duc Thuan, Director of the Provincial Police Department, thanked the delegates for their participation and comments. At the same time, he hoped that agencies and units would continue to strengthen their support for the propaganda work on the draft laws drafted by the Ministry of Public Security.
