For the armed forces, especially in training, combat readiness and modern regular construction, digital transformation is no longer a strange concept, but has been and is gradually being concretized with practical actions.

Regiment 2, Division 395 is one of the typical units leading the emulation movement to promote digital transformation, application of science and technology and innovation in performing political tasks.

Proactive awareness, decisive implementation

Right from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 2 have clearly identified: Digital transformation, technology application and innovation are among the key tasks, closely linked to improving the quality of training, combat readiness, building a regular system and reforming military administration. On that basis, the Regiment has issued a specific action plan, assigning clear tasks to affiliated agencies and units; at the same time, widely propagandizing and indoctrinating all officers and soldiers about the role, importance and goals of digital transformation in the Army.

With the motto "Going step by step but firmly, effectively and in accordance with the unit's reality", the Regiment focuses first on areas with high digital applicability such as: Document management, training, logistics - engineering, emulation - rewards and political education .

Application of information technology in management and operation

One of the remarkable steps forward is that the Regiment has digitized the document and file management work, helping to shorten the work processing process, making it more transparent and scientific. The issuance, storage and search of documents are now done through the internal system, significantly reducing the time and human resources for administrative work.

In addition, training planning management software is also widely deployed from battalion to regimental level. Thereby, commanders at all levels can monitor progress, adjust content, and update test results visually and accurately. The training data system is also digitized, from multiple choice question banks to electronic lesson plans and simulation training videos.

Innovation in training content and methods

Identifying training as the central task, Regiment 2 has constantly innovated the content and teaching methods towards modernization. Shooting simulation equipment, virtual reality models in tactical training, situational exercises using 3D technology, Power Point presentations containing moving videos, images... have been included in practical training, to meet the requirements of visuality and vividness, making soldiers understand the lesson better, more thoroughly, more deeply about the features, structure and kinematics of technical weapons and equipment.

The emulation movement “Each officer and soldier has a creative idea” has been widely deployed by Regiment 2, attracting the enthusiastic participation of officers, union members and soldiers. Since the beginning of the year, the entire Regiment has had dozens of initiatives applied in practice, many of which have won prizes at division-level competitions.

A typical example is the initiative "QR code model containing songs prescribed in the Army, combined with traditional songs of Military Regions, Divisions, Regiments, units and 5 new dances issued by the General Department of Politics in the Vietnam People's Army...". These initiatives are not only highly practical, but also save a significant amount of budget, training time and improve the unit's combat readiness.

Improving digital capacity for officers and soldiers

One of the important pillars in digital transformation is people. The Regiment has focused on organizing training courses to improve knowledge and skills in using information technology for officers and soldiers. Training content focuses on skills in using management software, office applications, information security, and using digital devices to serve command, management, and training.

In addition, Regiment 2 also organized the establishment of digital support teams and digital skills consulting teams of units to help and guide members who have not yet grasped the technology to grasp and perform well the operations on the computer. In addition, every evening, after completing the regime of reading newspapers, listening to news, and watching news, the Regiment also deployed units to organize for soldiers to watch and learn topics on digital transformation.

Difficulties, challenges and determination to overcome

Despite achieving many positive results, the digital transformation process at Regiment 2 still faces many difficulties. Some units are stationed in areas with unstable network infrastructure; the level of technology use of a number of officers and soldiers is limited; investment in equipment and software has not yet met the demand.

However, with a proactive, creative and highly determined spirit, the Regiment has gradually removed obstacles, prioritized investment in key projects, made the most of available resources, and closely coordinated with the Division's specialized agencies to synchronously deploy solutions.

Building on the achievements, in the coming time Regiment 2 will continue to:

Promote comprehensive digitalization in command, operation, training and logistics and technical support;

Expand the scope of application of specialized software, connect internal databases and link with combat information systems;

Organize sports competitions, innovation competitions, and scientific research at the regimental level;

Strengthen cooperation with training and research facilities inside and outside the Army to receive technology transfer and update new trends;

Building a team of "both red and professional" cadres capable of mastering technology and leading digital transformation in the unit.

Digital transformation, application of science and technology and innovation are not only inevitable trends, but also important driving forces to improve the overall quality and combat strength of the armed forces. With the right leadership, high determination and creative approach, the Party Committee and command of Regiment 2 are gradually affirming their position as a pioneer in this field, contributing to building a "lean, compact, strong" Vietnam People's Army, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
