As one of the representative faces of the Vietnam Aircraft Engineering Company (VAECO), engineer Thai Bao Tram has affirmed her mettle in a technical field that is considered to be exclusively male.

She has many roles: a creative engineer, with initiatives that bring in billions of dong, contributing to enhancing VAECO's reputation; a devoted wife and mother, keeping the flame of family happiness; a kind colleague, willing to share with colleagues and a responsible citizen, always devoted to volunteer activities for the community.

With nearly 20 years of working at the Maintenance Service Center - Aircraft Engineering Company Limited, female engineer Thai Bao Tram has left her mark with initiatives worth billions of dong.

In a technical environment that requires absolute precision, she always takes the time to carefully observe her colleagues' operations, detect unreasonable points and propose improvements. Many of her initiatives not only help make work more convenient, but also bring significant economic value to the unit.

Notably, the initiative "Improving the B777 engine dock module for use in B787 engine maintenance" was put into effect from May 2024, saving the unit more than 4.5 billion VND. With this initiative, engineer Tram was awarded the Creative Labor Certificate in 2025 by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

As the Head of the Women's Union of the Southern Maintenance Service Center, Ms. Tram always has a high responsibility in implementing emulation movements, mobilizing women to participate in technical innovation initiatives and collective bonding activities.

Under her leadership, the women's union maintains many practical activities, contributing to improving spiritual life, creating a joyful, united and creative working environment for female union members.

In 2024, she was honored by the Vietnam Airlines Corporation Trade Union in the topic "Intellectual and creative aviation women in the new era".

While at work, Ms. Tram is a decisive engineer, but when she returns home, she becomes a model of a hard-working, dedicated woman. For her, a successful person must know how to balance work duties and personal life.

She believes: When there is balance and love in your heart, whether at work or at home, everything becomes easier. From that goal, she built a happy, equal, progressive home; the children are obedient, study well, and the family has been recognized as a "Cultural Family" for many years in a row.

For Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Anh, the first time she visited President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum was also the first time she represented nearly 100 outstanding groups and individuals in the movement "Good at public work, good at home work" of the Uncle Ho Citizen newspaper. Looking back on her journey from a machine operator to managing nearly 4,000 workers, she was very moved and proud.

After 26 years of working at TKG Teakwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Dong Nai), her dedication and innovative spirit helped her become one of 10 individuals to receive the award "Dynamic, creative, responsible female union member" in 2025.

In addition to her managerial position, Ms. Tu Anh also holds the role of a female union officer of the department - a job that requires a lot of time and effort. I work because of my passion, I always think that I will try my best in my work. With each idea, I think very carefully, if I find it not suitable in the labor and production process, I boldly propose it to the line leader or company leader - Ms. Tu Anh shared.

Therefore, Ms. Tu Anh's initiatives all come from production reality. What she is most satisfied with are the improvements that help connect the stages, save time, reduce operations, reduce labor for workers and bring economic benefits to the factory.

Having worked directly on the production line, Ms. Tu Anh clearly understands each link of the work chain and labor pressure. When she became a manager, she focused more on researching and learning to improve the working methods for her workers.

She and her team have repeatedly exceeded production targets and achieved high results in many categories, all exceeding the factory's KPI. Not only does she do a good job in management, she also directly participates in innovation projects.

In just three years (2022-2025), Ms. Tu Anh has contributed to helping businesses significantly save on raw material costs and improve the working environment through specific initiatives: recycling and reusing production tools to save nearly 200 million VND; reducing labor costs to save more than 250 million VND; improving production equipment to save more than 1 billion VND.

They are among 60 individuals recognized in the emulation movement "Good at public work, Good at housework" for the period 2020-2025. They are also the most typical collectives and individuals who have promoted the talents and creativity of female union members, actively contributing their enthusiasm and intelligence to contribute to the development of agencies, units and enterprises. In addition to professional work, they are also excellent in organizing family life, taking good care of their children, and actively participating in women's work and community movements.

The success of the movements and the growth of each exemplary union member is proof of the role of the Trade Union in accompanying, caring and protecting, and at the same time is the driving force for the Vietnam Trade Union to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promoting the potential, intelligence and creativity of female union members and workers in the new period.

The pride of the Vietnam Trade Union organization

In 1989, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) launched the emulation movement “Good at public work, good at housework” among female workers and civil servants. For nearly four decades, the movement has become a symbol of the bravery and intelligence of Vietnamese women over the past three decades.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Party Secretary, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), said that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always cared about and highly appreciated the role of Vietnamese women in the development of the nation's history.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has always paid attention to recognizing and promoting the role of female workers, civil servants, and laborers, maintaining the organization and developing emulation movements, typically the emulation movement "Good at public work, Good at housework" among female workers, civil servants, and laborers. Through the stages, the movement has always been focused by the Trade Union organization on the grassroots, encouraging female union members and laborers to overcome difficulties and complete assigned tasks well. Trade unions at all levels have created and concretized the content of the emulation movement "Good at public work, Good at housework" to suit the reality and each profession. In addition, the movement is always linked with the emulation movement "Good at work, creative work", the movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era". After nearly 4 decades of implementation, it has been affirmed that the movement is not only a competitive slogan but has become the personal need and aspiration of millions of Vietnamese women to shine in both "family" and "society" aspects.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 1,500 typical collectives and individuals in the emulation movement "Good at public work, Good at housework". From the results of the movement, hundreds of female cadres, workers and civil servants were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate of the General Confederation. Many of them were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister and noble Medals of various types by the President. Many of them were awarded the title of Labor Hero in the renovation period, the title of People's Physician, Teacher, Meritorious or other honorary titles, and received noble national and international awards...

“In each job position, each field of work, each specific profession, you have many initiatives, topics, and effective solutions that bring value to the agency, unit, enterprise, and community, clearly demonstrating the image of a “Dynamic - Creative - Responsible Female Union Member”. In terms of economic efficiency, many initiatives bring value from several hundred million to billions of VND/year. One thing in common is that you all have a journey of learning, striving, persistent training, actively innovating and creating in your work; being a wife and mother who arranges family work scientifically and lovingly, and being a responsible citizen towards the community and society”, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang shared.
