On September 15, in Houston, USA, Hai Duong Province coordinated with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston to organize the Hai Duong Province Investment Promotion Conference with the theme Connect - Cooperate - Accompany.

The event attracted more than 120 attendees, including representatives of the Texas State Government, State Congressmen and Houston City Government, investors, businesses, and US entrepreneurs in the fields of investment, services, high-tech industry, import-export, logistics, manufacturing, processing, agricultural products, real estate, healthcare,education , etc.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, provided an overview of the socio -economic development situation, results of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the province and development orientation in the coming time.

Hai Duong is considered one of the 20 localities with the best quality of industrial infrastructure in the country. This is an outstanding advantage for the province to be on the list of attractive investment destinations for foreign enterprises. With 500 FDI projects with a total capital of over 9.2 billion USD from 26 countries and territories, Hai Duong currently ranks 4th in the Red River Delta region and 11th nationwide in attracting FDI (commitments).

On behalf of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, Consul General Nguyen Trac Ba affirmed that with Hai Duong focusing on developing specialized high-tech, service and ecological industrial zones to form a key industrial zone to attract large investment projects with modern and environmentally friendly technology, there is a lot of potential and room for cooperation between the two sides that can be exploited in the coming time.

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston is ready to act as a bridge between Hai Duong province and investors, organizations, and companies wishing to learn about the market as well as the possibility of investing in potential fields in Hai Duong.

Within the framework of the Conference, US businesses and investors had many exchanges and discussions with leaders of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, departments, branches, and companies about cooperation and investment opportunities in the areas where the Province is calling for FDI.

Investors are particularly interested in reform measures and shortening administrative procedures to facilitate FDI companies operating locally.

On this occasion, the provincial leaders also directly met and contacted potential investment enterprises.

At the end of the conference, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang and delegates witnessed the signing ceremony of 8 cooperation documents in the fields of trade, import-export and services, including the Memorandum of Understanding on investment cooperation in the high-tech factory project in Hai Duong province with a total investment of 300 million USD.

On the same day, the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee delegation visited and worked at An Phat International Company, which is investing in and trading in completely biodegradable biological products in the North American market, and Thang Hung Commercial Complex.
