Provincial Farmers' Association implements practical and effective emulation movements

DTO - The Provincial Farmers' Association currently has more than 5,500 Association Groups, 686 Branches, 139 bases, 12 districts and cities with nearly 172,200 members. The Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee established 4 emulation clusters and assigned each Standing Committee member of the Provincial Farmers' Association to be in charge of the emulation cluster to direct the work and emulation movements in the Association system. Since then, the patriotic emulation movements in the Association system have had many innovations in content and form, practically associated with political tasks, especially focusing on the grassroots, attracting the active participation of Farmers' Association members, contributing to the implementation of the task of local socio-economic development.

Good farmer Nguyen Thanh Quoi (residing in Phong Hoa commune, Lai Vung district) converted low-yield rice production area to longan cultivation, bringing high economic efficiency.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association organizes, fully and promptly disseminates the guiding documents on emulation and reward work to all levels of the Farmers' Association and issues programs and plans to launch annual emulation, thematic emulation, and register emulation covenants. The Provincial Farmers' Association coordinates with the Department of Home Affairs to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Regulation on commendation for the movement "Emulation of Farmers in Good Production and Business" in the province. Every year, the Association at all levels launches the movement of emulation of Farmers in Good Production and Business, with the average result of about 61% of farming households registering and over 50% of households registering to achieve the title of "Excellent Farmers in Good Production and Business at all levels".

Through the emulation movement, contributing to the effective implementation of the provincial agricultural restructuring project in the area. In particular, the Association at all levels focuses on building and replicating effective farming and livestock models, bringing practical benefits to members and farmers such as: "My home field", "My mango tree", "Rice production applying 4.0 technology"... At the same time, guiding and supporting farmers in production associated with product consumption for 252 models with thousands of member households and farmers participating in effective production linkage.

The Association at all levels has promoted the implementation of Conclusion No. 250 of the Provincial Party Committee, 11th tenure, on continuing to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development associated with Agricultural Restructuring and Sustainable Poverty Reduction by 2025. At the same time, it has promoted and mobilized members and farmers to promote their role as subjects, proactively and actively, upholding the spirit of solidarity, autonomy, self-reliance and self-reliance in participating in new rural development through projects and tasks such as: collecting pesticide waste; donating nearly 976,000m2 of land for rural roads; mobilizing sponsors and members and farmers to voluntarily contribute funds and working days to repair and build 422 new rural bridges... with a total cost of more than 130 billion VND.

The Provincial Farmers' Association regularly directs grassroots Associations at all levels to pay attention to discovering, introducing, and replicating advanced models, typical examples, and examples of "Good people, good deeds" and promptly posting them on mass media, Zalo groups in the Association system, and the Provincial Farmers' Association's website. Through emulation movements, Associations at all levels have discovered, introduced, and rewarded many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in patriotic emulation movements. Specifically: The President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to 1 individual; the Prime Minister awarded Certificates of Merit to 33 excellent farmers in production and business in the period 2014 - 2024. Along with that, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag and 2 Certificates of Merit to the collective of the Provincial Farmers' Association; awarded 208 Certificates of Merit to "Excellent farmers in production and business" in the area in the period 2013 - 2023.

According to comrade Phan Thi Kim Nhung - Vice President of the Provincial Farmers' Association, in general, emulation movements have been practically and effectively implemented by the Association at all levels. The content and criteria of emulation are specifically and clearly defined, organized and implemented in conjunction with the political tasks of agencies and units as well as closely following the reality of members and farmers. From there, creating solidarity, consensus and efforts of all cadres, civil servants, members and farmers, especially promoting the pioneering and exemplary role in emulation movements of cadres, civil servants, members and farmers associated with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. The work of evaluating emulation titles and forms of rewards is carried out with the right subjects, standards and authority, ensuring democracy and publicity; promptly summarizing and concluding emulation movements, selecting collectives and individuals with truly outstanding achievements to commend, honor and reward.
