The workshop was attended by artists working at 10 central specialized Literature and Arts Associations, provincial and municipal Literature and Arts Associations across the country; managers, scientists, researchers in literature and arts theory and criticism, etc.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan said that the workshop aimed to assess the general situation of Vietnamese literature and arts over the past 50 years, looking at the overall activities in the fields of literature, music, theater, cinema, photography, fine arts, dance, architecture, folk arts, and ethnic minority arts. The workshop was also an opportunity for the Central Association of Literature and Arts, provincial and municipal Associations of Literature and Arts, and artists to propose and recommend policies and guidelines to the Party and State to overcome shortcomings, create favorable conditions and a free and democratic creative space, and inspire artists to promote their talents, intelligence, solidarity, and enthusiasm in creating valuable works to serve the people and the country in the new era - the era of national development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien suggested that the conference not only aims to summarize the achievements of Vietnamese literature and arts in the past 50 years but also needs to "position" the position of Vietnamese literature and arts, the role and responsibility of artists towards the country in the new context.
