Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Manh Than, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association; Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Dinh Quang Tuyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of provinces and cities: Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Bac Kan, along with experts, investors, travel and tourism businesses in and outside the region.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province emphasized: Developing tourism in the provinces of the Cau River basin not only effectively exploits the unique cultural and natural potential of each locality but also contributes to promoting regional connectivity, creating momentum for sustainable socio -economic development. He affirmed that tourism development entails a positive shift in economic structure, supporting clean agriculture, services - trade, preserving traditional culture and improving people's lives. The workshop is an opportunity for localities, businesses and experts to exchange and seek cooperation opportunities, aiming to bring tourism in the Cau River basin further and further.
At the workshop, delegates listened to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of Bac Kan Young Enterprise Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, introduce the potential, destinations, tours, and tourist routes of Bac Kan province.
The presentations at the workshop focused on practical contents such as: Tourism development from community resources; sustainable tourism in Asian countries; building attractive destinations and experience in developing new tourism products. Many travel businesses and investors expressed special interest in the tourism potential of the Cau River basin, proposing solutions such as: diversifying products, developing inter-regional tours, improving competitiveness and promoting the image of localities.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Manh Than, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association emphasized: “The provinces in the Cau River basin have great potential with rich natural resources and diverse cultural heritage. However, to make a breakthrough, it is necessary to have a strategy of close and synchronous regional linkage in building typical products, promoting brands and improving service quality. Bac Kan, with the advantage of being 'at the source of the Cau River', needs to promote the development of green tourism, linking cultural preservation with tourism economic development, while focusing on training human resources and attracting strategic investors...
On this occasion, Tourism Associations of some provinces and cities, travel agencies, some enterprises and cooperatives signed memorandums of understanding and cooperation in promoting and introducing destinations, tours, routes, etc.
Concluding the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Today's workshop marks a new step forward in linking and cooperating to develop sustainable tourism among provinces and cities in the Cau River basin. The sharing and enthusiastic comments from experts and businesses will help state management agencies have more basis to plan appropriate policies, promoting the strong development of tourism in the region.
Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh believes that with the consensus of all levels, sectors, localities, businesses and the community, tourism in the Song Cau basin will develop more and more strongly, becoming a bright spot on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the entire region./.
