From fragrant Ba Be squash to tea bag brand
Ba Be fragrant green squash is a specialty of Bac Kan with a mild aroma, medicinal value to help cool the body, detoxify, aid digestion, and beautify the skin. When dried, the squash creates a gentle, pleasant flavor, suitable for drinking tea every day. Realizing this potential, Phja Food Company Limited in Na Po village, Quan Ha commune (Bach Thong) has chosen fragrant green squash as the main ingredient, researching and developing fragrant green squash tea bags.

To ensure a stable source of raw materials, the company has built a sustainable chain of links with farmers in Luc Binh, Vu Muon (Bach Thong) and Dia Linh (Ba Be) communes through product consumption contracts. The raw material area currently covers 8-10 hectares, contributing to increasing income for local people.
Currently, Phja Food Company Limited develops 03 products from fragrant green squash including: Tea bags, fresh green squash and crispy dried green squash, meeting diverse needs. In which, fragrant green squash tea bags have been certified with 3-star OCOP at the provincial level, affirming its quality in the market.

The product is made entirely from natural ingredients, from processing, drying to packaging are strictly controlled, ensuring safety, convenience and suitability for modern consumer needs. The product is highly appreciated by consumers.
Ms. Hoang Thi Nuong, Director of Phja Food Company Limited said: “The company will expand the raw material area to 15-20 hectares, invest in modern processing lines, ensure food safety, and register new OCOP products such as pumpkin jam. We expect to bring many quality products to customers.”

Special value from Yen Han Shan Tuyet tea
Shan Tuyet tea trees have long been associated with the people of Yen Han commune (Cho Moi). The cool climate, high altitude and suitable soil create favorable conditions for tea to grow well here. Among them are many ancient trees that are tens to hundreds of years old. Shan Tuyet tea grows naturally on the mountains, absorbing night dew and fresh air, bringing a characteristic flavor such as a light astringency, deep sweetness, and a rustic, pure aroma.

Despite its great potential, Shan Tuyet tea is still mainly consumed in raw form, without further processing, resulting in low value and an unstable market. In 2023, Ban Moc Agricultural Cooperative (Yen Han) was established with the goal of preserving precious tea varieties and increasing the economic value of this crop. With a raw material area of 14 hectares, the Cooperative initially only produced traditional Shan Tuyet tea under the brand name Ban Moc Shan Tuyet Tea.

Since 2024, after researching the market, the Cooperative has developed more naturally fermented Black Tea products, preserving nutrients and unique flavors, suitable for many groups such as women, children, the elderly, and is also an ingredient for making milk tea and fruit tea. The new product has been positively received, expanding the direction of development.
Ban Moc Agricultural Cooperative also focuses on building professional packaging and labels, applying traceability to ensure quality transparency. At the same time, it takes advantage of social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, and e-commerce sites Shopee, Vo So, and participates in trade promotion programs to reach customers. Currently, both Ban Moc Shan Tuyet Tea and Hong Tra products are recognized as 3-star OCOP at the provincial level, of which Ban Moc Shan Tuyet Tea is also one of 27 typical rural industrial products at the provincial level in 2024.

Mr. Ma Van Thong, Director of Ban Moc Agricultural Cooperative shared: "Currently, the Cooperative focuses on production and processing, associated with preserving quality and traditional flavor, gradually building Shan Tuyet tea products into prestigious brands, contributing to the development of the local economy and improving people's lives."

The initiative of enterprises and cooperatives in exploiting local advantages, applying technology and building brands has contributed to raising the level of Bac Kan agricultural products and promoting sustainable rural economic development./.
