Ms. Truong Thi My Dung - Head of Hue Book and Culture Club shared this information at the ceremony to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Hue Book and Culture Club which took place on the afternoon of September 20.

Representatives of local government leaders, experts, cultural figures and many club members attended the event.

Officially in operation since the end of September 2024, Hue Book and Culture Club is like a "common home" connecting readers, volunteers, and the community to share their love for books and cultural values.

Since its inception, the Club has organized a variety of events from seminars, book introductions and launches to talk shows and academic exchanges. Through these events, the Club aims to spread the reading culture, create a space for connection and contribute to enriching the spiritual life of Hue people. At the same time, the Club expands its activities for domestic and foreign tourists who want to learn, research, exchange and share about books and Hue culture.

“More than philosophy, it is the mission, how through this operating model, we create connections between people who love Hue. Thanks to books and cultural activities, we bring people who love Hue together, organize programs, and create playgrounds for the general public,” Ms. Dung shared.

Currently, the Club has more than 4,500 books for readers, of which more than 1/3 are about Hue or written by Hue people. Talking about the future vision, Ms. Dung said: The Club will aim to become the leading center for connecting knowledge, culture and creativity in Hue, an open community space, inspiring all generations and contributing to shaping the cultural identity of the ancient capital in the new era. Specifically, there will be about 30,000 books with more than 50,000 copies, focusing on books about Hue, Hue authors and documents related to history, geography, culture, art, customs, cuisine , medicine... Along with that, building a digital library on management software, expanding remote access for readers.

In addition, continue to maintain and develop the 4 key target groups of the Club: parents, students, authors, and businesses. At the same time, implement activities such as HueTalk, book contests, educational workshops, life skills, startups, and in-depth development of Hue cultural communication projects for residents and tourists...
