On November 3, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province said that as of 7:00 a.m. this morning, the whole province had 34/676 educational establishments with 18,464 students (538 classes) temporarily closed due to the impact of floods, the remaining schools still organized teaching as usual.

Of which, the preschool, primary and secondary school sectors have 28 schools with 13,417 students, 408 classes are absent due to many schools being isolated and partially flooded. At the high school level, 3 schools with 3,528 students, 89 classes are temporarily absent. At the vocational education and continuing education center sector, only Cam Xuyen Continuing Education Center has to stay away from school with 398 students. Particularly at the intermediate and college sectors, Ha Tinh Vocational College and Nguyen Du College recorded 1,121 students, 31 classes are absent due to floods.

The cause is that the heavy rains and floods in recent days have caused many inter-village and inter-commune roads to be partially flooded, making traffic difficult; some residential areas and schools have been isolated, and many schools are deeply submerged in water.

After the flood recedes, schools will urgently clean classrooms, disinfect, and clean the environment to soon stabilize teaching and learning again.

Currently, the Ha Tinh Department of Education continues to coordinate with localities to closely monitor the flood situation, with the highest goal being the safety of students and teachers, while minimizing disruption to learning.

According to the report, as of the evening of November 2, the whole province still had 5,377 flooded households.
