More than 21 thousand hectares will be paid for forest environmental services in 2024

Accordingly, the area covered by forest environmental services payment in 2024 is more than 21 thousand hectares (converted according to coefficient K) with 5,118 forest owners (including 5,104 individual households, 1 village community, 2 commune-level People's Committees, 11 forest owners are organizations), in 22 communes, wards and towns of 04 districts: Yen The, Son Dong, Luc Ngan and Chu town.

The total amount of payment for forest environmental services in 2024 to forest environmental service providers in the province is nearly 3.2 billion VND, according to each basin. Specifically, the upper basin of the Thuong River (Yen The district) is more than 1.5 billion VND (average payment of more than 314 thousand VND/ha). The basin of Cam Son Lake (Luc Ngan district and Chu town) is more than 1.2 billion VND (average payment of more than 148 thousand VND/ha). The basin of Son Dong district is nearly 425 million VND (average payment of more than 144 thousand VND/ha).

Regarding the form of payment for forest environmental services, the forest environmental service provider organizes and makes payment through a bank account. The forest environmental service provider is a household, individual, or community that pays in cash.

The provincial post office is the unit that supports the provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund in making payments for forest environmental services to forest owners who are households, individuals and village communities in the province.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund to proactively coordinate with the Bac Giang Provincial Post Office to carry out relevant legal procedures and make full payments to forest owners who are households, individuals, and village communities assigned by the State to manage forests in the watershed in the 4 districts of Son Dong, Yen The, Luc Ngan and Chu town, ensuring timeliness, publicity, transparency and correct beneficiaries according to regulations. The payment must be completed before June 1, 2025.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for directing the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund to pay, manage and use forest environmental service fees in the following years in accordance with regulations.
