(To Quoc) - The journey "Clean up Son Tra - For a Green Son Tra" with the hope that Son Tra peninsula will be greener, cleaner and more beautiful. Through the program spreading the message of green living, calling on the community to join hands to build the image of Son Tra peninsula as a "Green tourist destination".
In order to organize activities to protect the environment and wildlife on Earth Day April 22 and World Environment Day June 5, on April 20, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches (Da Nang Department of Tourism) coordinated with units to organize the activity "Clean Up Son Tra - For a green Son Tra" No. 1 in 2024.
This is a series of propaganda activities to raise public awareness of environmental protection, mobilize people and tourists to participate in biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection movements in Son Tra peninsula, build and promote the image of green tourism in Son Tra peninsula with the message "Son Tra peninsula - green destination".
After hearing the announcement, hundreds of people divided into many groups, taking on the task of picking up trash in many areas across Son Tra peninsula...
In the area above the Green Lake, the fire site, although the peninsula management unit has put up a sign "Leave only your footprints, no trash"...
...but many people after going up to play and sightsee, organize meals, lack awareness and litter...
...the area below the cliff is also littered by many thoughtless people...
On the morning of April 20, volunteers divided into many groups to pick up trash and clean up Son Tra peninsula...
Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said that this activity aims to promote the participation of local people and tourists in activities and movements to protect the environment and wildlife, contributing to greening the Son Tra Peninsula. At the same time, with the hope that Son Tra Peninsula will be greener, cleaner, more beautiful and become a green destination for everyone.
"Through the program to spread the message of green living, calling on the community to join hands in building the image of Son Tra peninsula as a "Green tourist destination", Mr. Hai said.
In nearly 3 hours, volunteers picked up a lot of trash, including a lot of plastic waste left behind by locals and tourists visiting Son Tra peninsula.
Also on the morning of April 20, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches g) and Viet AnGroup Joint Stock Company organized tree planting "For a green Son Tra".

The photo exhibition “Protecting wildlife”; propaganda about the harmful effects of feeding wildlife, the role and importance of wildlife to the ecosystem in Son Tra peninsula also took place at the flower garden area in front of Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort...
The exhibition displays pictures of the state of hunting and wildlife trade as well as threats to Vietnam's wildlife. Propaganda on monkey protection, the issue of feeding monkeys in Son Tra. Explaining the state of monkey feeding and the negative impacts of feeding monkeys. Propaganda on the consequences on the health and natural behavior of monkeys when they are used to eating food from humans.
The exhibition also provides visitors with information on ways and methods to protect monkeys, such as not feeding monkeys, not creating a suitable environment for monkeys to access food from humans. Encourage visitors to participate in volunteer activities such as contributing to the preservation of monkey habitats and participating in wildlife protection projects.
In 2024, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches will upgrade the activity "Clean Up Son Tra - For a Green Son Tra" into a responsible tourism product. Volunteers will pick up trash from the Green Lake area to Linh Ung Pagoda, combining with mobilizing tourists to participate in cleaning up the tourist area, while also propagating to tourists the following contents: Do not use plastic waste, throw trash in the right place, do not feed wild animals.
