After more than 3 years of implementing Project No. 02/DA-UBND dated June 25, 2021 on "Building new rural areas in the period of 2021 - 2025 and orientation to 2030", Hong Bac commune has achieved positive results in implementing the National Target Program (NTP) on building new rural areas. Specifically, village roads, alleys, cultural houses, and village community activity houses have been built and renovated to meet the living needs of the people. Forming effective production models, actively contributing to socio -economic development and increasing people's income.

From the difficulties in economic development, Mr. Le Nang Tho (Tan Hoi village, Hong Bac commune) has constantly made efforts to apply scientific and technical advances in livestock and crop farming through participating in training courses and training on production organization models. Realizing that the land and soil in Hong Bac are suitable for Bo Chinh ginseng and pink banana, along with the support of loans from the government and departments, his family has boldly invested more than 500 million VND to develop these two types of plants.

After the trial period, the plants grew well. Bananas and Bo Chinh ginseng products are regularly purchased by traders from all over the country, with stable prices, bringing a good income to his family. Mr. Tho said that his family currently grows 2 hectares of tissue-cultured pink bananas, with 3,200 roots. On average, each bunch weighs 40 kg, purchased at an average price of 3,000 VND/kg, the revenue from banana growing is about 250 million VND/year, the profit from the banana growing model is on average 100 - 150 million VND/year. His family also invested in planting Bo Chinh ginseng from the beginning of 2022, with an area of ​​about 2 hectares. By 2024, he expanded the area by 0.5 hectares, has now harvested and continues to plant new ones. With an average selling price of 1kg from 150 - 170 thousand VND, the total revenue from Bo Chinh ginseng reaches 450 - 510 million VND, the profit he earns is about 100 - 150 million VND.

Building advanced new rural areas

Mr. Dinh Viet Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Bac commune, said that by the end of 2024, the average income per capita in the commune increased by 9.67 million VND, reaching 47.17 million VND/person/year; the number of poor households decreased to 30 households, accounting for 4.82%. The commune has paid attention to integrating and rationally using resources, promoting socialization in building new rural areas. Thanks to that, the appearance of the countryside has changed a lot, people's lives have improved significantly, associated with sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction results. Up to now, Hong Bac has completed 19/19 criteria for building new rural areas. Of which, it has completed 2 difficult criteria: income of 47.17 million VND compared to the criterion of over 45 million VND/person and the multidimensional poverty rate of 12.5% ​​compared to the criterion of 13%.

One of the "highlights" in the construction of new rural areas in Hong Bac is that the essential infrastructure serving production and people's lives has been paid attention to, built and upgraded. From the capital source supporting national target programs, the commune has invested in the construction of 9 infrastructure works, with a total investment of 13.5 billion VND, 1 road project to the medicinal herb area of ​​Hong Bac commune. Deploying capital from the national target program to support production development in the years: 2022, 2023, 2024 with a total investment of 6 billion VND...

In the coming time, the locality will continue to improve people's lives, develop agriculture in an ecological, modern, sustainable rural direction, and gradually improve infrastructure in the direction of urbanization. Promote the internal strength of the community to effectively implement the National Target Program on building advanced new rural areas according to the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people check and people benefit".
