The singer held a press conference on the afternoon of October 18th in Hanoi to introduce her single "Tears ," the live concert "Hong Nhung Sings About Hanoi," and the vinyl record of the same name.
The live concert will take place at 8 PM on November 30th at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi. The single "Giọt nước mắt" (Tears) will be released tonight (October 18th).
"If I had to choose again, I would still choose to be Vietnamese."
The song "Tears" was composed by musician Vo Thien Thanh during the recent Typhoon No. 3.
Instead of a melancholic rhythm and somber lyrics, the songwriter incorporated elements of rock and electronic music, bringing a fresh spirit and conveying a positive message to the audience.
Recounting her visit to Thai Nguyen province during Typhoon No. 3, Hong Nhung said that in the most difficult times, the qualities, inner strength, and spirit of mutual support of the Vietnamese people are demonstrated more intensely than ever before.
"Normally, when we Vietnamese go out, we might argue, but when needed, strangers are ready to help with their time and money," she said, then added, "For us artists, feelings are expressed through our artwork."
Hong Nhung added that this single is the foundation for a community-oriented music project, a collaboration with musician Vo Thien Thanh in 2025: the album "Thank You ".
The artist will incorporate messages about green living, environmental protection, and other social stories. These include expressing gratitude and honoring sanitation workers, shoe-shining children, and housewives…

Hong Nhung's most ambitious projects are dedicated to Hanoi.
Director Cao Trung Hieu said that he is from the South and knew Hanoi, and imagined Hanoi largely through Hong Nhung's singing. "This year marks the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation, and it wouldn't be right if Hong Nhung didn't sing about Hanoi," he said.
Hong Nhung's performance about Hanoi will be a concert featuring only songs about Hanoi, including songs associated with her name as well as brand new songs.
Among them, two songs that are indispensable are "Remembering Hanoi's Autumn" and "Short Autumn Melody of Hanoi" by composer Trinh Cong Son.
Along with the documentary series Hong Nhung Stories - Relaxing with Bong, the live concert and vinyl album Hong Nhung sings about Hanoi are perhaps the longest-running and most ambitious projects the artist has dedicated to her hometown of Hanoi.
The live concert featured a total of over 80 artists, showcasing a diverse range of art forms including singing, ballet, hip hop, rap, and more.
Besides guest performers Ha Anh Tuan and rapper Big Daddy, the concert also featured musician Quoc Trung, saxophone artist Quyen Thien Dac, violinist Bui Cong Duy, and visual director Phuong Vu…
Cao Trung Hieu believes this is probably the first time a team mostly from the South has organized a Hanoi-themed concert. "Our thoughts and feelings for Hanoi will be expressed through the concert, hoping to bring something different to the audience," he said.
