Third Class Labor Medal and the tireless efforts of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy

Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, was established on October 27, 2020 on the basis of upgrading the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (2010), inheriting the medical training tradition of Indochina University since 1906.

Over 15 years of formation and development, the school has built a solid foundation of expertise and medical ethics, which is a valuable asset to continue to grow strongly.

Professor, Doctor, People's Physician Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the school spoke at the event.

From the early days with only two majors of Medicine and Pharmacy and 100 students in the first class in 2012, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has grown step by step. Today, the school has expanded with 6 undergraduate training programs, enrolling more than 1,000 students each year.

At the postgraduate level, 30 programs including Residency, Specialist I and Master's degrees enroll over 500 students each year; international master's and doctoral programs will be added soon.

Each number is not just a statistical achievement, but a testament to the love for the profession, dedication and desire to create generations of doctors who are both professionally skilled and ethical.

In parallel with training, the school has continuously promoted scientific research and knowledge transfer. A series of national and ministerial level topics and prestigious international publications have been published, providing practical solutions to urgent public health issues.

With the mission of becoming a leading center for training, research and medical examination and treatment, the school is committed to implementing the resolutions of the Party and the Government , developing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus into a smart, high-tech university hospital, contributing to training a team of doctors with good expertise, good medical ethics and dedication to people's health.

Professor, Doctor, People's Physician Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the school shared that today's achievements are the crystallization of the dedication and tireless efforts of all staff, lecturers and students. We are committed to continuing to train generations of physicians with solid expertise, good medical ethics, compassion, and readiness to serve the community.

Currently, Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, has 464 staff members, including 14 professors, 75 associate professors and 139 doctors.

In particular, the Board of Directors brings together leading experts in the field, in which three out of six vice principals are directors of major hospitals such as Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Maternity Hospital; Dr. Duong Duc Hung, Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Director of Hanoi National University, emphasized that the Third Class Labor Medal is a worthy recognition for the tireless efforts of the teachers and students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Accordingly, although it has only been established for 5 years, with the "One VNU" model, the school has affirmed its core role in the field of health sciences.

The leaders of Hanoi National University hope that the University of Medicine and Pharmacy will continue to promote its role as a leading training center, develop interdisciplinary programs, apply digital transformation and artificial intelligence in teaching and practice, and train doctors with good expertise, good medical ethics, and dedication to people's health.
