Off-road driving training for officers preparing to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations

On October 24, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department opened an off-road vehicle training course for peacekeeping officers to equip them with knowledge and skills in controlling, towing, maintaining and servicing four-wheel drive off-road vehicles as required by the United Nations.

This is an activity for officers of the Vietnam People's Army to prepare to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations as individuals, ensuring good completion of tasks when deployed in the mission area.

This activity also aims to contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation in the field of United Nations peacekeeping between Vietnam and France.

The training course took place from October 24 to November 7 at the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism .

The training course includes many activities such as theoretical training and practical off-road driving skills.

Officers will acquire and practice skills in using winches, speed bumps, checking vehicle frames and tires, checking vehicles before departure, controlling vehicles before and after overcoming obstacles, off-road driving equipment, recognizing terrain to overcome, vehicle maintenance and servicing.

In particular, you will practice using rescue equipment and practice off-road driving exercises according to the situation.

The training course was attended by two French instructors, 30 officers preparing to perform duties at United Nations peacekeeping missions in 2024, and officers of the Department of Peacekeeping.
