Prime Minister and UN Secretary General leave together to attend ASEAN conference

On the evening of October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi for Malaysia to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits from October 25 to 28, at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the 2025 ASEAN Chair.

Notably, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this time also had United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and his entourage.

The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits are the most important and largest series of conferences during Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2025, with the participation of leaders of ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste and partner countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's participation in the 47th ASEAN Summit and related Summits strongly conveyed the message of a proactive and active Vietnam, contributing responsibly with member countries to maintain and strengthen ASEAN's central role and promote its responsible voice for peace, stability and development.

The working trip continued to affirm the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization; continued to deepen relations, increase trust; implemented the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, Conclusion 59-KL/TW of the Politburo on orientations for participating in ASEAN until 2030 and Directive 25-CT/TW of the Secretariat on promoting and raising the level of multilateral diplomacy until 2030, Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation.
