Ho Chi Minh City receives more than 7 billion VND and 50,000 USD to support flood victims

On the afternoon of October 29, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received more than 7 billion VND and 50,000 USD from 27 units, businesses and individuals to support people in flood-affected areas, including goods worth more than 2 billion VND.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Phan Hong An - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee - said that as of October 28, the City Relief Mobilization Committee had received more than 14,000 donations, with a total amount of more than 174 billion VND; at the same time, received more than 10,000 family medicine bags, 50 tons of rice, 70 tons of essential goods and personal items, with a total value of more than 5 billion VND.

The City Relief Mobilization Committee promptly organized working groups to directly visit, give gifts and at the same time distribute funds and support goods to provinces and cities that suffered heavy damage caused by storms and floods in order to promptly share and help people overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and restore production.

According to Mr. Phan Hong An, the above numbers not only demonstrate compassion, compatriotism, and national love, but also affirm the tradition of "HCMC for the whole country, with the whole country", always pioneering and ready to share difficulties with people in areas affected by natural disasters and floods.

Immediately after launching, the city quickly transferred emergency funds and goods to heavily affected provinces and organized working groups to directly visit, encourage and support people to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

The City Relief Mobilization Committee will continue to review, summarize the situation and support the remaining localities affected by storms and floods to overcome the damage.

"In today's reception, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city would like to express our deep gratitude to the kindness and noble gestures of businesses, universities and organizations that have actively participated in supporting people in storm and flood-affected areas," said Mr. Phan Hong An.
