Accordingly, at about 5:30 a.m. the same day, Phu Mau bridge (Xuan Phu village, Khe Tre commune) at Km20+24 of Provincial Road 14B collapsed the bridge pier - connecting the bridge pier with the road leading to the bridge, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. Before that, the bridge showed signs of gradual erosion under the bridge pier on the Khe Tre side going to the center of Hue city.
Previously, on October 31, the Dan Phu bridge in Dan Phu village, Khe Tre commune collapsed and washed away the soil at the foot of the foundation, leaving behind the concrete connecting the bridge foundation and the asphalt road. Currently, the bridge area has been barricaded, prohibiting vehicles from passing through.
In addition, on October 27, the foot of the Leno bridge connecting Khe Tre and Nam Dong communes was also swept away by floodwaters, due to heavy rains for many days leading to erosion and collapse of the bridge foot. If the rain and floods continue and the water level rises, Phu Mau village will likely be cut off.
Mr. Duong Thanh Phuoc said that as of November 3, there were many landslides in the commune and some houses collapsed. Local authorities have evacuated hundreds of households to safety.
