Nakata Vietnam Packaging Joint Stock Company in Phu Thanh II Industrial Park, Lac Thuy District strictly implements regulations on labor safety and hygiene.
Nakata Vietnam Packaging Joint Stock Company has an investment capital of over 70 billion VND, building a 2.5-hectare factory in Phu Thanh II Industrial Park from 2022. The company's main business is producing packaging from virgin plastic particles, creating jobs for 30 local workers with an income of 7-15 million VND/person/month. Mr. Tran Minh Ngoc, company manager, said: In recent years, the company has strictly implemented regulations on occupational safety and health; coordinated with the district's professional department to organize training on occupational safety and health, regular health check-ups for workers, and equipped medical cabinets for first aid in accidents according to regulations. Along with that, banners and slogans are hung at the production facility to raise workers' sense of responsibility and awareness in complying with regulations on occupational safety... For many years, the unit has had no occupational accidents, and occupational safety and health is ensured.
The district pays attention to directing and synchronously implementing propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws on occupational safety and health to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, enterprises, production and business establishments and workers. Propaganda work is promoted in many forms: hanging banners and slogans in response to the Month of Action on occupational safety and health; posting news and articles on the district's electronic information portal, grassroots radio system; distributing leaflets and propaganda handbooks. Propaganda content focuses on the provisions of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, the rights and obligations of workers and employers, measures to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, safety of equipment and machinery in production, etc.
Through propaganda work, awareness and responsibility of enterprises, production and business establishments and employees regarding occupational safety and health have been gradually improved; many units have proactively developed risk prevention plans, conducted periodic training, and invested in labor protection equipment for employees.
Serious work accidents have been gradually controlled, the working environment at many production and business establishments is safer. Many safe production models and safe work teams have been maintained and expanded. According to statistics, from 2015 to present, Lac Thuy district has recorded about 25 work accidents, occurring in both areas with labor relations (at enterprises, production and business establishments) and areas without labor relations (freelance workers, individual households, civil construction, etc.).
In addition to the achieved results, occupational safety and health work still has shortcomings and limitations such as: some small enterprises have not really paid due attention to occupational safety and health work; the organization of training and equipment inspection is still a formality; self-inspection and self-assessment of risks at the workplace have not been fully implemented; the general labor force and seasonal labor have not been properly trained.
Strengthening the inspection, examination and supervision of compliance with the provisions of the law on occupational safety and health at enterprises and production establishments, especially those with high risks of occupational accidents and employing many workers, in the past 10 years the district has conducted 94 inspections at production and business establishments. Through inspections, resolutely handle and temporarily suspend production for units with violations and failure to ensure safety conditions.
Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Van, Vice Chairman of Lac Thuy District People's Committee said: In the process of implementing the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, the work of overcoming risks related to occupational accidents and diseases is basically carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law, the main responsibility belongs to employers and relevant professional agencies. In the coming time, the district will continue to strengthen the work of directing, inspecting and supervising, while improving the effectiveness of propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws on occupational safety and health in high-risk enterprises. Promote the application of technology in the management and supervision of occupational safety and health, replicate pilot models, promptly commend units that perform well in this work, towards building a safe, healthy and sustainable working environment.
