Connecting resources helps students access technology.

Nguyen Thanh Trung was the first student at Tan Thanh Secondary School (Tan Tien commune, Dong Nai province), a border school, to practice on the new computer on the opening day of the 2025-2026 school year. Trung felt that the computer ran quickly and the keyboard was responsive, unlike the old computer which took quite a long time to start up.

Since the start of the school year, many students have shared the same joy as Trung as the computer labs, funded through social contributions, have been continuously transferred to many schools, especially those in the border areas of the province.

Let's work together to bring technology to schools.

Comrade Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, said: The education sector has achieved many accomplishments in recent years, but there are still many difficulties that need to be addressed. In Dong Nai, there are 45 schools in 8 border communes. Of these, 30 schools are included in Notice No. 81-TB/TW, the Politburo 's conclusion on the policy of investing in school construction for border communes. In addition, many schools in disadvantaged communes urgently need attention and investment in infrastructure.

To achieve this, the Party, the State, and the province have been implementing many solutions, including surveying the physical infrastructure and teaching and learning situation in schools; the number of students in each commune; and allocating resources… Besides the state budget, the province also calls for the cooperation of the community to build a modern and favorable educational environment for students in border areas and disadvantaged communes.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, along with its member organizations, has mobilized, received, and distributed social contributions to schools. Specifically, on September 5th, the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, together with sponsors, handed over a computer room with 20 computers to Tan Thanh Secondary School (Tan Tien commune); and a computer room with 30 computers to Loc Tan Secondary School (Loc Tan commune).

On September 9th and 12th, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province, in coordination with the People's Committee of Tan Trieu ward and sponsors, handed over a computer room with 46 computers and 24 televisions to Thanh Phu Secondary School; and handed over a set of meeting room equipment (including a projector, projector screen, and laptop) to serve the learning needs of students at Phan Chu Trinh Primary School.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hao, Principal of Tan Thanh Secondary School, shared: "The school has 690 students. Previously, the school had a computer room, but after a period of use, the room deteriorated and only about 10 computers were still working. This hindered the teaching and learning of Informatics. Therefore, receiving support to have a new computer room is a great joy for the entire school."

Currently, the province is continuing its efforts to mobilize social resources to support school infrastructure, hoping to receive the cooperation of individuals and organizations.

Helping students use technology effectively.

The new computer labs, put into use right at the beginning of the school year, have made teaching and learning more exciting for teachers and students in schools throughout the province.

Nguyen Khanh Linh (a student at Tan Thanh Secondary School) said: "I am very happy that the school has a new computer room with many computers and a strong internet connection, so it's very convenient to use."

Meanwhile, at Loc Tan Secondary School, also a border school in Dong Nai province, student Tran Hoang Thanh and his classmates are showing each other the functions of single and combined keys on the keyboard.

Hoang Thanh said: "Previously, I had some experience with computers, but my skills were limited, so I wasn't proficient. When the school got new computers and the teachers guided me, I thought I would quickly become proficient in using them."

Le Phat Dat (a 6th-grade student at Thanh Phu Secondary School, Tan Trieu Ward) said: “I’ve been using computers for three years, but many other students have never used one before, so their computer skills aren’t very good. During class, I try to teach them more. I hope all my classmates will be able to use computers well so they can apply the benefits of the internet to their studies.”

To help students effectively utilize technological devices, Ms. Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, requested schools and local authorities to increase the time students spend practicing on computers; and to implement solutions to encourage them to improve their technology application skills in learning, thereby building a digital environment in schools in border areas.

To achieve this, each commune and each school needs to have appropriate solutions.

According to Hoang Manh Thuong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Loc Tan commune, in order to encourage students to use computers proficiently, the locality will launch a fast typing competition for students of all levels in the 2025-2026 school year.

Teacher Nguyen Van Hao added: "Students' computer skills are still very slow, and they are not yet proficient in using applications. To become faster, they need to use and explore the software regularly. To encourage this, the school launched a fast typing competition on the first day of the new school year. We hope that after this competition, students will type faster and be able to use basic computer skills."

Through the connection facilitated by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Lac Hong University is pleased to have helped border students at Tan Thanh Secondary School have better learning opportunities with new computers. In the future, the university will strive to allocate resources to work with the province to bring information technology to schools facing many difficulties.

Distinguished Educator Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Vice Rector of Lac Hong University

Currently, the province hopes to continue receiving attention and support from philanthropists, agencies, organizations, and businesses in order to create the best possible learning environment for students in border communes.
