Opening of the Congress of Delegates of the Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central Mass Organizations

The Congress elected a 14-member Presidium, a Secretariat, and a Delegate Qualifications Verification Board; and presented a report synthesizing comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party.

On September 22, in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations solemnly held the first Congress of delegates for the 2025-2030 term, with the participation of Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Also attending the congress were members of the Party Central Executive Committee and 346 delegates representing more than 5,000 party members in the entire Party organization.

The preparatory session of the congress carried out important contents, including the election of the 14-member Presidium, the Secretariat and the Delegate Qualification Examination Board. The congress also approved the program, working regulations, presented a report summarizing comments on the draft documents and organized group discussions.

Mr. Do Van Chien chaired the meeting, emphasizing the importance of unifying will and action to successfully achieve the set goals. The Congress is an important political event, orienting the activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in the next 5 years.

Recognizing comprehensive achievements

At the program, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, presented a report summarizing opinions on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc said that most opinions unanimously appreciated the preparation of the draft documents. The documents were assessed as elaborate, scientific, general and specific, comprehensively reflecting the achievements, while frankly pointing out the shortcomings, limitations and weaknesses.

The opinions basically agreed with the theme, saying that it reflected the aspirations of the entire Party and people. However, there were suggestions that it should be more concise and succinct, and that the phrase "our entire Party, our entire people, our entire army" should be added to emphasize comprehensiveness and the strength of great solidarity. Some opinions also suggested adding the word "responsibility" to the congress' motto to affirm the determination to act.

According to Mr. Hoc, the delegates acknowledged the comprehensive achievements in the fields of economics, politics, national defense - security, foreign affairs and Party building. In particular, the work of Party building, rectification and the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity was assessed to have had strong changes, creating trust among the people.

Emphasize maintaining political stability

Opinions suggested that it is necessary to analyze more deeply the complex international context (epidemics, conflicts, climate change) and further emphasize the achievements of multilateral diplomacy and "Vietnamese bamboo" diplomacy.

The opinions emphasized the importance of maintaining political and social stability as a prerequisite. It is necessary to firmly and strictly implement the Party's organizational principles, strengthen inspection and supervision, and promote the exemplary role of leaders, especially heads.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc said that opinions affirmed that 40 years of renovation is a historical journey, bringing the country from a poor, underdeveloped country to a developing country with average income, with its international position increasingly enhanced.

In theory, the Party has gradually improved its understanding of socialism and the path to socialism. In practice, the report has reflected outstanding achievements. However, there are opinions suggesting that it is necessary to consider and evaluate in relation to countries in the region to see more clearly the development requirements.

Regarding limitations, many opinions suggested that it is necessary to emphasize that institutional innovation is not yet synchronous, human resource quality is not high, education and training do not meet development requirements, accountability is not clear, and a number of party members and officials have degraded in political ideology and lifestyle ethics.

Regarding the causes, there are both objective and subjective ones, but the subjective ones are the main ones. The main cause is due to limited leadership, direction, and implementation capacity, some policies are not suitable, and have not promoted the country's potential and advantages. It is necessary to clearly identify the main cause, the main cause, the cause of all causes in order to have solutions to overcome them.
