Opening of the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament 2025

On the evening of April 3, 2025, at the Phu Tho Provincial Sports Complex, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to organize the opening ceremony of the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament 2025. In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Dac Thuy - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province said: Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament is an annual sports event in the series of activities of Hung Vuong and the Cultural Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty - 2025. The 8 teams with the best results in the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, including 4 women's teams LBBank Ninh Binh - Vietin Bank, VTV Binh Dien Long An - Thong tin Dong Bac and 4 men's teams: Ho Chi Minh City Police - Da Nang, MB Border Guard - The Cong Tan Cang will compete in the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament 2025 from April 3 to 6.

With the participation of many of Vietnam's best 'hitters' such as: "Dinosaur" Tran Thi Thanh Thuy; "King of Bombing" Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and 2014, 2018 world champion Michal Kubiak - Polish main striker... the tournament promises to create top-notch competitions and many relationships between strong teams of Vietnamese Volleyball.

According to the regulations, each team can register 10-14 athletes. Notably, teams do not limit the transfer of athletes, including domestic and foreign players. This is an advantage for coaches to calculate personnel, contributing to creating attractive competitions.

Sharing about the tournament, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong said: after 17 successful seasons in many aspects, the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament has become an event that domestic and international audiences are interested in and follow.

To have the best preparation for the tournament, the host locality has prepared the conditions of facilities; accommodation, logistics and other related work. In addition, to ensure fairness and transparency for all teams participating in the tournament, the local organizing committee coordinated with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to install additional LED screens on stand D to best support the organization of the match. In addition, continue to deploy Video Challenge Eyes technology - similar to VAR in football with many slow-motion cameras to support the referee to review controversial situations that occurred during the match.

The new point of this year's Hung Vuong Cup is that there is an official sponsor - Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, so the prize money for the teams has also increased 3 to 5 times in the prizes for the Champion, Second, Third, Encouragement teams and individual prizes. In addition, the support budget for the teams has also been doubled. This not only increases the competition between the teams but also contributes to gradually raising the tournament to an international level in the coming years.

With groundbreaking changes from organization to prize structure, the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament promises to be the most exciting season ever.

April 3-4: Ninh Binh - Industrial and Commercial Bank (4:30 p.m.), Ho Chi Minh City Police - Da Nang (7:30 p.m.).

April 4: VTV Binh Dien Long An - Information Corps (7:00 p.m.), Border Guard MB - Tan Cang Sports Center (9:00 p.m.).

April 5th: Men's 3rd place match (7pm) and women's final (9pm).

April 6th: Women's quarterfinal (7pm) and men's final (9pm).
