(BLC) - On the afternoon of March 29, Phong Tho district held the inauguration ceremony of the project "Reinforced concrete bridge in Do village, Khong Lao commune" using capital from the Indian Government 's fast-effective project fund.
Attending the ceremony were comrades San-dip-A-ry-a, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam; Ha Trong Hai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Bao Trung - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Phong Tho District People's Committee; representatives of some district departments and the People's Committee of Khong Lao commune.

The Ban Do reinforced concrete bridge in Khong Lao commune is a level IV traffic project that started construction in 2023, with a total investment of 1 billion 150 million VND. Construction scale: 6m long bridge, 6m wide bridge, 5.5m wide open to traffic. With reinforced concrete bridge abutment, wing wall, bridge yard, bridge deck, and guardrail structure. The road at both ends of the bridge has a total length of 50m, the roadbed width is 4 - 5m, the road surface width is 3 - 4m, and the structure is cement concrete. The system of marker posts and signs at both ends of the bridge is also built according to the regulations of level IV traffic roads. Up to now, the project has been completed to ensure quality according to the design documents and progress.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade San-dip-A-ry-a, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam shared the difficulties with the people of Do village and hoped that they would continue to overcome difficulties to develop the economy , making the locality increasingly developed.

Expressing gratitude to the Indian Government's Fast-Accelerating Project Fund as well as Comrade San-dip-A-ry-a, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam; thanking the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Tran Bao Trung - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Phong Tho District People's Committee affirmed that since the Ban Do bridge, Khong Lao commune was put into use, the road to the production area of the people has been stable, limiting the risks of insecurity during the rainy and flood season. Along with the attention to directing economic development with appropriate forms of support, the people of the Ban Do area have been more secure in expanding the cultivated area, enhancing the ability to develop the household economy.

The Chairman of Phong Tho District People's Committee hopes that the Indian Embassy in Vietnam and Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee will continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions to help the ethnic people of Phong Tho District access support capital sources from domestic and foreign organizations with the aim of supporting development and helping Phong Tho District strive to escape poverty by 2025.
