On the morning of July 4, the Steering Committee for coordinating mass mobilization activities to build and protect the Fatherland of Yen Khanh district in coordination with the Provincial Development Investment Fund held the inauguration ceremony and handed over the Gratitude House to the family of war invalid Nguyen Xuan Huong in Phu An village, Khanh Phu commune, Yen Khanh district.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huong is a 3/4 disabled veteran who was exposed to toxic chemicals. For many years, his family has lived in a dilapidated house that is unsafe but they have no means to repair or rebuild.
Faced with that situation, in April 2023, the Steering Committee coordinated activities to mobilize the masses to build and defend the Fatherland. Yen Khanh district coordinated with the Provincial Development Investment Fund to survey and decided to support Mr. Huong's family to build a new house.
The house is worth more than 300 million VND, of which the District Steering Committee, the Provincial Development Investment Fund and local authorities supported 70 million VND. The rest was supported by relatives. After nearly 4 months of construction, the house was completed with an area of 55m2, ensuring safety and meeting the living needs of Mr. Huong's family.
Also on this occasion, departments, branches and organizations of the province and district gave many meaningful gifts, encouraging Mr. Huong's family to strive to improve their lives.
This is one of the activities showing the attention of all levels and sectors to show gratitude to the families of those who have contributed to the revolution, contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the area. At the same time, it is a project of practical significance towards the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023) and welcoming the 220th anniversary of the Yen Khanh Title (1803 - 2023).
