When completed, Ca Mau Airport will be able to accommodate medium-range aircraft such as Airbus A320, A321, serving about 1 million passengers per year.

The timely implementation of the project demonstrates the determination and consensus of the entire political system and people of Ca Mau province in putting this key project into operation soon, meeting the expectations of sustainable development of the province in the future. The handover of the project site in the past time has received the consensus of people in the affected area. Many households have taken the lead in handing over the site, thereby creating a positive effect in the community.

Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to individuals who have complied well with the handover of land in the implementation of the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project.

Mr. Huynh Van Son's household, Hamlet 7, Ward 6, Ca Mau City, one of many local households actively handing over the land for project implementation, was highly appreciated by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Son previously owned more than 10,000 m2 of land, the area within the project implementation area was 6,000 m2. After being informed by the local government and functional agencies about the contents related to the land for project implementation, realizing that the price offered was reasonable, he took the initiative to submit an application for handing over the land early.

Mr. Son shared: "As a local, I realize that the project will create breakthroughs in the socio-economic development of the locality; moreover, I am a citizen of Ca Mau, I cannot, for a little immediate benefit, cause difficulties for the project, causing the local government to worry. On the other hand, I find the compensation price that the locality has announced and applied reasonable." It is worth noting that the land area recovered for the project was originally used by Mr. Son to raise marble goby fish, bringing in high profits. Not for that economic benefit, he voluntarily relocated, choosing another location to continue raising.

Nearby, Mr. Pham Van Phe also had positive thoughts, agreeing for the common good. Mr. Phe owns more than 9,000 m2 of land, the land area within the project area is more than 6,000 m2. Mr. Phe's spirit and work were recognized and highly appreciated by the provincial leaders.

To create consensus, propaganda and mobilization to help people understand the meaning and purpose of the project, the compensation policies are important steps. This work requires cooperation, persistence and perseverance."

The project is built on land located in Ward 6 and Ward 7, Ca Mau City, with a total construction area of about 12.15 hectares. This is a strategic development step, aiming to improve the quality of treatment, reduce the load on the upper level and gradually affirm the role of the hospital as a high-tech medical center in the Mekong Delta region, creating trust for people when choosing to examine and treat here.
