The Vinmart+ store in Co Dam commune (Nghi Xuan district) has been in operation for about two months now. Despite its recent opening, thanks to its convenience, modern facilities, and diverse product range, Vinmart+ has become a trusted shopping destination, attracting a large number of local residents.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, a resident of Phu Thuan Hop village, Co Dam commune, shared: "Previously, we had to travel quite far to buy goods at the supermarket, but now that Winmart+ has opened near our house, it's very convenient. They have a wide variety of goods with clearly displayed prices, origins, and labels, so I feel very confident in my choices. It's especially convenient for buying fresh food."
Mr. Le Cong Dinh, an employee at the Winmart+ store in Co Dam commune, said: “On average, the store welcomes hundreds of customers every day. To make it convenient for customers, we created a Zalo chat group with many members. Through this group, the store regularly sends information about newly imported fresh food items or promotional programs. Through this channel, customers can message us what they need to buy, and we will reply, prepare the goods, and fulfill their delivery requests as quickly as possible.”
The Winmart+ system currently has 50 stores in Ha Tinh province.
Winmart+ in Co Dam commune is one of the Winmart+ stores belonging to the retail system of Wincommerce General Trading and Service Joint Stock Company - a member of Masan Group - that have recently opened in Ha Tinh province.
Mr. Tran Van Thao - Director of the Central and Central Highlands Region (managing the Winmart+ system) said: "Currently, there are 50 Winmart+ stores in Ha Tinh province, including 22 stores in Ha Tinh City, and the rest in districts and towns. Recently, the Winmart+ system has continuously expanded in rural areas such as Cuong Gian commune (Nghi Xuan district), Tan Lam Huong commune (Thach Ha district), Cam Nhuong commune (Cam Xuyen district)... In the future, Winmart+ will continue to develop and increase the number of stores in districts and communes of Ha Tinh with the desire to give people in rural areas access to higher quality products."
Recently, Co.opfood, a safe and convenient food store (part of Co.opmart supermarket), has expanded to many localities such as Cam Xuyen, Can Loc, and Hong Linh. Trusted and chosen by customers, Co.opfood stores welcome 100-130 customers daily.
Mr. Tran Dinh Chung, head of marketing at Co.opmart Ha Tinh supermarket, said: “Currently, Co.opfood has 3 stores in Ha Tinh City and 3 stores in the districts and towns. By building a system of convenience stores in these localities, we hope that more customers will have access to and be able to purchase high-quality products with clearly listed prices. At the same time, developing the store system will also contribute to the campaign encouraging Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.”

Many commune and town centers in districts now feature professional and modern mini-supermarkets and convenience stores. The difference with this type of retail is the investment in space and numerous shopping amenities such as software systems for management and sales, clear price listings, receipt printing, card payment machines, and easily accessible merchandise displays.
Furthermore, in recent times, in rural areas, many individuals have invested in building self-service convenience stores to serve customers instead of traditional grocery stores as before.
Ha Tinh currently has approximately 150 convenience stores, mini-supermarkets, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) stores.
According to Mr. Vo Ta Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently about 150 convenience stores, mini-supermarkets, and OCOP product stores in the province. With many advantages such as diverse goods, modern shopping spaces, clearly displayed prices, and good customer service, the development of mini-supermarkets and convenience stores in districts and towns has contributed to improving rural commercial infrastructure, forming modern shopping habits for people, and contributing to building commercial civilization and developing the province's trade and service sector.
Currently, over 92% of products sold in convenience stores and mini-supermarkets are Vietnamese goods, effectively contributing to the campaign encouraging Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese products.
