In 2005, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu graduated from Hong Duc University, majoring in Physics Education, and was assigned to teach at Ba Thuoc High School - where poor students were still hungry and "thirsty" for knowledge. 2 years later, he was transferred to teach at Nong Cong 3 High School when the learning discipline of students here was not good, the results of excellent students and students passing the university entrance exams could be counted on the fingers of one hand. However, with the experience of working in difficult areas when he had just graduated, Mr. Tu recognized many bright spots of students in this poor land. With his enthusiasm, effort, perseverance, and dedicated guidance and nurturing of students, he and his students brought "dream" achievements to Nong Cong 3 High School with 55 students winning provincial prizes and 3 students winning national prizes.

In 2020, he was assigned to teach at Lam Son High School for the Gifted - one of the top specialized schools in the country. Teacher Nguyen Ba Tu shared: “Lam Son High School for the Gifted is closely cared for by the province and the Department of Education and Training, has dedicated teachers, intelligent and passionate students - these are good conditions for me to contribute. However, the work of nurturing excellent students also faces many difficulties and challenges. The content of the exams is constantly being innovated, requiring teachers to self-study and research constantly; equipment and laboratories are limited; the psychological pressure on students is great, at the same time, the regime and policies for teachers directly nurturing still have many shortcomings. However, I always keep in mind that "Difficulties are challenges, hardships are motivation", so I persevere in self-study, innovate methods, combine modern technology with love and trust for students. It is that spirit that helps teachers and students turn pressure into motivation, turn challenges into achievements."

In recent years, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu's work of training excellent students has achieved many proud results. In the period of 2021-2024, he directly trained 4 students to win international and regional medals. Notably, in 2024, 1 student won a silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad, 1 student won a silver medal and 2 students won a bronze medal at the Asia- Pacific Physics Olympiad. In the national excellent student competition, from 2021 to now, he has trained 16 students to win prizes, including 1 first prize, 9 second prizes, many of whom entered the international Olympic selection round. At the provincial level, students trained by him have won more than 20 provincial excellent student awards, including many first prizes. In addition, at the excellent student competitions in the coastal region, the Northern Delta and the Natural Science Olympiad, students trained by him have also won 13 gold medals and 10 silver medals.

It is known that, in addition to his achievements in teaching and nurturing excellent students, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu also actively participates in scientific research and implements many innovative experiences. Since working at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, he has had 4 innovative experiences recognized by scientific councils at all levels, directly applied to teaching practice, contributing to improving professional quality throughout the school. In recognition of his achievements in teaching and nurturing excellent students, in 2020, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister; in 2024, he achieved the title of National Outstanding Teacher along with many Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee...

The personal achievements of teacher Nguyen Ba Tu are always associated with the overall success of Lam Son High School for the Gifted. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school ranked first nationwide in national excellent students, with Physics alone contributing 1 first prize, 4 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 2 consolation prizes and 1 international medal. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school's overall achievements in the national excellent student competition ranked sixth nationwide, with the Physics team contributing 2 second prizes, 7 third prizes and 1 consolation prize.
