Construction of Hieu Liem Bridge connecting the two banks of Dong Nai River began

Hieu Liem Bridge will replace the ferry, helping people on both banks of the Dong Nai River travel more conveniently and easily.

On December 29, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) started construction of Hieu Liem bridge under the Tri An hydropower plant expansion project (Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai).

Hieu Liem Bridge will be built and completed in one year.

According to EVN, to meet the increasing demand for consumer loads and take advantage of the excess water discharged during the annual flood season, EVN has proposed to invest in the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project. This project was approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee in 2020.

The project has a total installed capacity of 200MW, including 2 units, each with a capacity of 100MW. Once put into operation, it will contribute to increasing the ability to mobilize capacity for loads in the Southern region... Hieu Liem Bridge is one of the important items of the project, built with the purpose of serving the transportation of materials and equipment during the project construction process.

After the project is completed, Hieu Liem bridge will be left to serve the travel needs of local people, helping to connect traffic and contributing to the economic and social development of the area.

Hieu Liem Bridge was approved as a level II project with a length of over 249m, a width of 9m and is expected to be completed and put into use after 1 year of construction. Thus, in the near future, people in this area will be able to travel by bridge instead of ferry.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, said that along with the Hiem Liem Bridge project, Vinh Cuu District People's Committee has also recently started construction of the 1.5km long access road to Hieu Liem Bridge.

The provincial leaders requested Vinh Cuu district and related units to construct Hieu Liem bridge and the approach roads on both sides of the bridge to ensure the progress, quality of the project, traffic safety, labor safety, and environmental sanitation. At the same time, try to minimize the impact on the production and business activities of people and enterprises in the area.

Also at the ceremony, EVN and Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee presented 30 gifts to disadvantaged households in the locality.
