According to the decision, Ms. Phan Thi Xuan Thao - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee - is the head of the inspection team. The team includes representatives of the ward police and the health department.
The interdisciplinary team is responsible for checking the selection of suppliers, contracts, food origin records, three-step verification process, sample storage, kitchen warehouse conditions - equipment - kitchen staff, bookkeeping; and reviewing non-budgetary revenues and expenditures related to boarding activities.
The Ward People's Committee requests weekly results reports and summarizes all contents to send to the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee at the end of the inspection. In case of detecting violations, the delegation will propose measures to handle the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals.
This tightening move took place after on the evening of September 19, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan directed the authorities to thoroughly resolve the content of the press's reflection and the complaint related to the boarding meals of 720 students of Trung Vuong Primary School; at the same time, requested to rectify the organization of school meals and standardize the process of ensuring food safety.
School lunches suspended due to allegations
Regarding the incident, on September 20, Trung Vuong Primary School announced that it would temporarily suspend meals for boarding students from September 22 because all suppliers had requested to stop delivering food, and the school had no alternative source.
Previously, the school's report said that it had recorded a number of shipments "with unusual signs" and affirmed that the suspicious shipments were returned or replaced, and samples were kept according to regulations, while the whistleblower claimed that "some of the shipments were cooked for students to eat."
