Accordingly, we are determined not to let rice fields be abandoned, and proactively rearrange the structure of varieties and crops to suit actual conditions and seasons. The heads of local Party committees and authorities are fully responsible for the results of directing the restoration of production in the area.
Focus on mobilizing all resources to promptly drain about 13,200 hectares of flooded rice in Hai Lang (6,000 hectares), Trieu Phong (2,068 hectares), Vinh Linh (1,000 hectares), Cam Lo (529 hectares), Dong Ha (395 hectares), Quang Tri town (60 hectares), Dakrong (57 hectares), Huong Hoa (43 hectares) and Gio Linh (3,053 hectares) districts.
Accurately assess the level of impact when the water recedes, isolate areas of young rice, long-term flooding, and irreparable (over 70% damage), in high fields with good drainage to promptly support short-term and very short-term varieties for people to re-sow.
For areas affected by less than 70% and capable of recovery, focus on care solutions according to instructions to help rice plants recover quickly, shorten growth time, and ensure harvest no later than September 15, 2025 for low-lying areas of Hai Lang and Trieu Phong and before September 20, 2025 for high areas with good drainage.
Organize field sanitation and convert crop structure on an area of about 3,600 hectares out of a total of 7,790 hectares of damaged upland crops to convert to other short-term crops such as green beans, sesame, melons, vegetables of all kinds..., no later than June 30, 2025 to minimize damage from late-season natural disasters.
Proactively develop a plan to expand the area of early autumn-winter crop planting in 2025 to increase income, improve economic efficiency per unit area and compensate for output losses caused by natural disasters.
Quickly restore poultry flocks for short-term use; take advantage of the guaranteed area to expand livestock, poultry and aquaculture farming, especially the 993 ha of aquaculture area that was flooded and washed away by floods.
Review and assess the extent of damage to irrigation works to develop investment plans to promptly repair and remediate, and pump to ensure irrigation and drainage for the remaining crops of the year, especially in areas and regions where production has been expanded.
It is known that due to the impact of the recent storm No. 1, in the whole province, more than 16,300 hectares of rice in the seedling - tillering stage and nearly 7,790 hectares of crops (cassava, peanuts, vegetables, beans, etc.) in the stage of developing stems, leaves, tubers, etc. were deeply submerged in water; about 1,500 poultry and some livestock died; about 993 hectares of aquaculture were flooded, swept away and many irrigation works were damaged, with an estimated loss of more than 675 billion VND.
