On September 26, Ukraine expressed optimism about a counterattack from the Zaporizhzhia front. Meanwhile, Russia claimed via radio that 10,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) soldiers had surrendered.

Alexander Tarnavsky, commander of the Tavria group of the VSU, said that there would soon be "good news" from the Zaporizhzhia front – where a VSU counteroffensive is underway in the Rabotino-Verbove area in the Orekhovsky direction.
On the evening of September 26, following reports of a significant VSU attack in the direction of the village of Verbove, the Russian side announced that the counterattack had been repelled.
According to Ukrainian sources, fighting is taking place east and southeast of Verbove. Russian reserves are also reportedly moving into the area.
In addition, Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the pro-Russian government council of Zaporizhzhia province, revealed that the VSU launched a large-scale attack with armored vehicles and four companies in the early morning of September 27.
Additionally, according to several sources from battlefield reporters, following intense shelling, the VSU advanced to the northern outskirts of Novoprokopovka. Detachments were also moving from the northeast, attempting to break through Russian defenses via forest belts.
In another development on the same day, the Russian news agency TASS reported that approximately 10,000 VSU soldiers had surrendered via radio 149.200 Volga .
A press representative of Russian emergency services stated: “Currently, more than 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have chosen to surrender and are using the Volga frequency 149.200 . The prisoners are being provided with necessary food and medical care.”
The agency added that the number of VSU soldiers surrendering has been increasing recently, via the 149,200 Volga frequency operating in all directions of the Ukrainian front. Meanwhile, many VSU soldiers have also surrendered in the Rabotino area and the Svatovo-Kremnaya direction.
According to the latest information on September 27, Moscow accuses the US and the UK of helping Ukraine attack the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean Peninsula last week.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized: "It is clear that the attack was premeditated and used Western intelligence, NATO satellite equipment, and reconnaissance aircraft."
Zakharova stated that the missile attack was carried out "in close coordination with US and British intelligence agencies."
