The event attracted approximately 350 delegates. The workshop was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, along with Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology . At the conference, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center and Vice President of the National Data Association, emphasized the role of data in the new era; data has become a strategic resource and directly determines the competitiveness of each nation. Vietnam has chosen to enter the data era by building a modern national data system. The Ministry of Public Security has been assigned as the national focal point for data to ensure unified coordination.
Mr. Raymond Gordon, President of the British University Vietnam, affirmed that the role of academics extends beyond theoretical research. Empirical research and international experience will be invaluable in policy planning. The university is committed to partnering with Vietnam in training high-quality human resources for the data economy .
Delegates focused their discussions on four major groups of issues surrounding a data economy model suitable for Vietnam. The discussions closely followed the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on national digital transformation. International scholars agreed on five key ideological pillars of the data economy: evidence-based policy planning, reliable system design, development of shared data spaces, modern governance, and prosperity creation.

Within the framework of the event, the National Data Association collaborated with partners to sign a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding. This activity lays the groundwork for long-term international cooperation on data and artificial intelligence.
Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong affirmed that the conference was a declaration of Vietnam's determination to build a modern data economy. Vietnam aims to ensure data security and create new drivers of growth. The ultimate goal is to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam by 2045.
